Oh Mouse! Let me know how good Christmas with the Kranks is!! I wanna go see it but I'm not sure I'll get to do it before it's on DVD. Jamie Lee Curtis is in it and I just love her. I heard it's based on the John Grisham novel "Skipping Christmas" which I just bought and haven't started reading just yet.
I just realized a little bit ago that my e-mail must have gotten misplaced in my Family Corner Crafts list mail that I've not had time to catch up on since the cruise. So I had to hunt it down.
We are very sad at our house tonight. Our beloved Butter Bun died in an accident tonight. I'm very serious when I say I've cried as much or more as the girls and Terry said he had to really work not to let his tears surface in front of them because he felt at this particular point they needed SOMEONE to be strong. We will have a funeral on Thursday when it's dry enough (hopefully) to bury him. He was so much fun and full of life and enjoyable to play with and will really be missed. Poor Sandi is okay for a few minutes and then she comes back for more hugs (and makes me cry again) with tears in her little eyes. It was her first pet she could call her very own.
Well, I'm off to bed. It's late and tomorrow will come early.

Not much if any shopping here on Black Friday although we may go sit in a parking lot somewhere and people watch. hee hee
I got my Wal-Mart sale paper in last night and was looking at it and then decided there is NO WAY I'm gonna fight people on Friday morning for that stuff.

I'm not going out on Black Friday, or any other part of this weekend. I've got enough groceries, so I don't have to go there either.
Preparing for the big day. I'm making the pies tonight. We'll see if they make it through until Thursday. LOL It's just the 3 of us, so we're cooking only the stuff we like. No mystery vegetables in some kind of sauce or jello salads with odd combinations.
Are any of ya'll getting away for the weekend? Any major cooking going on?
Stay safe on these yuckky roads if you have to go out.

I got my Walmart paper today, and they do not have anything I need either. There are a few things listed on www.bf04.com for Friday's sales that I'll pickup, then it's off to work.
I'm not cooking this year, though I will make cream corn to take with us to my Dad's. And maybe a sweet potato pie for us at home. No dishes !
We'll be eating at the inlaws but I'll make the dressing and sweet potato casserole and pies. She'll do the rest. It's the way we've done things for 20 years I guess. LOL! Well, every other year. The odd numbered years we are at my parents for turkey day and here for Christmas. We've always alternated holidays.
Thanks Judy for the condolences. I can't believe how attached we'd gotten in just 6 weeks. I'm going to try and attach the last picture I took of him - only about an hour before the accident. Oh, which was...
He liked to get up in my hide-a-bed sofa and sit up in the back of the sofa. The older girls and Terry had learned how to get him out when we needed to. We had told the little girls not to try getting him out - it was tricky. Well, none of us were in the living room and from what we can piece together Skylar thought he was stuck and started lifting the bed out of the sofa to get him out. Sandi saw him with his "head stuck" and tried to help. It broke his little neck. Terry told them at least he didn't suffer. It was instant. Didn't make it any easier. Sandi and I cried quite a bit last night and today as well. It was really hard to get up this morning and not have him sitting in his cage to say good morning to.
We told her we will try to get a new bunny after the holidays when we are back in town and everything.
Well, back to the grindstone. I'm almost finished with that baby blanket. I'll take a picture when I finish and post it for you to see.

I am just sitting down for a few minutes before I start cooking. Had Cub Scouts tonight so I am getting a late start.
We will be going to my in-laws for Thanksgiving Dinner. We usually have a huge crowd, 30 people or so. This year my FIL is not well so it will be just the immediate family. Hubby is taking FIL to Atlanta to see new DR tomorrow. Has had every test known done locally and they can't find anything wrong. But something is wrong I'm afraid.
I will be making my usual dishes for Thanksgiving. Deviled eggs, 4 layer dessert and pumpkin pies. My MIL asks me to bring the same things every year for 17 years. Either she really likes them or she thinks I can't cook anything else!
Martie...so sorry to hear about the loss of your pet. It is very sad. My son does not do well with this kind of loss either. Just lots of huggs and time will make it easier.
I won't be shopping on Friday but will have to deal with the shoppers. I have to work. We are not having any sales on prescriptions LOL but lots of people will be in the store. We will probably be busy in the pharmacy too. We usually are on Fridays.
Well....I must go boil some eggs!
Hope everyone has a great day! Remember all that we have to be thankful for.

It is raining, raining raining here. We got a lot of thunder last night also but that seems to have stopped for now and it is just the rain. I will be cooking today until around 3:00 then we will go see the movie Christmas with the Kranks and I'll let ya'll know about it. May be tomorrow though cause the movie is a little over an hour away from here (of course everything is far away from here) we're going to Rome to see it cause it isn't playing in Calhoun and by the time we get back I'll have a few more things to cook before tomorrow. I looked at the Walmarts ad also and unless someone else has a better ad coming out (we'll get a paper today) we won't be getting up way early and heading to the stores. That will be the first time in like 18 years we didn't go shopping on Black Friday.
martie I am so sorry about Butter Bun. It is so hard especially on the kids when a pet dies. I hope ya'll can find one she loves as much as she did Butter Buns.
Kelly sorry your f-i-l is not feeling well, hopefully the doctor can discover what the problem is and fix it. What is 4-Layer desert? Do you mind sharing the recipe? I hope they don't work you to hard on Friday. Did you get rid of your cold or are you still fighting it? Lots of liquids and don't forget to rest some if your still fighting it.
Judy thanks for the site, I let my oldest son look over it since he wants electronic stuff that I have no idea about but he finally decided he wanted money instead and so I will give it to him. I will hide it in little envelopes all over the house with clues to find it. You don't work to hard either.
Sharon I am pretty much cooking like you this year as the only guest we will have will be Christy (Michael's girlfriend) so we are pretty much sticking to our favorites. The only two things I am making different is Califlower with cheese for Christy and an artichoke casserole cause it sounded interesting.
Doris hope you are staying dry at your end of the state. I bet you are cooking some wonderful dishes for the holiday. Is it going to be your family or extended family and friends?
Pag I would never, ever, ever block you from my e-mail. Something must be messed up somewhere but I did get your mail in this morning so who knows.
Joyce, linnea, Stacey, Elizabeth, navy and kim ya'll enjoy your turkey and pies and stay dry.
I hope everyone on here has a most wonderful Thanksgiving.
mouse
Good evening, y'all. It has rained here for four days straight, and we had some thunder Tuesday, and again today, along with temperatures that are just plain too warm, dagnabit! i want some snow...enough rain, already!
Martie, I'm sorry to hear about the rabbit. Hug the girls for me, please, and consider yourself hugged, too: (((((MARTI))))).
I have to go out on Black Friday, and am NOT looking forward to it. But I think I can do what I have to do at Kroger, and hopefully most folks will be at a different type of store rather than buying groceries. I have to buy some support hose, and then some postal stamps to send to a Canadian friend...hope the post office isn't too awfully busy!! But I won't have to work Friday, because I have to give up my day off Thursday for the holiday...waaaaaaa. It's probalby going to be a madhouse in my WH.
Kelly, we have a CVS near us, but I don't shop there. There used to be one all but next door to my WH, and I loved it there, but for whatever reason, it closed. The people there were so nice, so courteous, friendly, knowlegable, and there was never too much of a wait for prescriptions. When they closed, i went to the other one, down the road a ways, expecting the same kind of service and atmosphere, and was blown away at the difference...the folks there are rude, hateful, don't want to wait on anyone, and the pharmacy wait is outrageous. We were told that it was too late to fill a prescription, so E. went to another pharmacy that closed at the same time, and it was filled, no problem. But, there are folks that will tell you horror stories about WH, too, y'know...it happens any time you work for a large chain, I think. The CVS building that closed has been turned into a Dollar Tree, and of course, I love that!!!! The pharmacy at K-Mart is wonderful, so I fill prescriptions there now, but do NOT like the rest of the store or the employees there.
Mouse, enjoy the movie, hear? If you make it into town this Friday, call me at home...well, that's if you can, lol...I'll probably be on the computer. Ok, try this...call me before 11AM, ok? I can get down to the WH to meet you. And, if you don't make it this time, we'll just try another time.
Pag, Stacie, Kim, Judy, Sharon, Ameyezing, Navy, Elizabeth if you're reading....y'all have a Happy Thanksgiving, hear? God bless.

What an interesting day here! It's been really windy and then during the middle of the Macy's parade we had snow flurries. We couldn't believe what we were seeing!
Dinner has been cooked, devoured and cleaned up. The guys are napping in front of a football game they really don't care about and I'm going to get a little ahead and do some work.
I hope you all eat your fill and arrive safely at your destinations. Be careful out there if you have to go to the stores tomorrow.
Happy Turkey Day!
