Welcome Kelly! Pull up a chair and grab a cup of or tea or hot cocoa and join right in.
Ok ladies...I am having a hard time coping with the fact that Beth will be able to get her driving permit in less than 1 MONTH! Mandy is double digits now....they make me feel old
Beth's musical is winding up. They preform Dec 2-5. I am anxious to see it. Practices are always closed so we have not seen her dancing or singing with this group. Patti, pm me if you are interested in seeing the performance. It would give us a chance to meet.
Welcome Kelly, like navywife said pull up a cozy chair and join us in our ramblings. We have a lot of fun. I am from GA but don't live there. I miss Savannah a lot. Take care and God bless

Thought for the Day
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream;
Not only plan, but also believe.
Patti, I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers.
Joyce, I will be keeping your dad and his wife in my prayers also.
Martie, I am so totally jealous of your trip (imagine me turning bright green with envy!) Sounds like it was AWESOME!
And, WELCOME TO the two newbies, Judy & Kelly.
I am certain I have forgotten to mention someone i wanted to say something to -- SORRY
Allow me to introduce myself...
My name is Stacey. I am mom to 3 little girls - Emma (age 8), Kate (age 6) and Megan (age 4). I am married to Keith who is in the Army. And I currently reside in North Carolina in a little place called Beaver Dam (aka - THE STICKS). When I joined this thread I lived in Savannah and found that I quickly became the best-of-friends with the ladies here. They are a chatty bunch at times so when you log on be prepared to stay awile!
Ok, so I haven't been around for almost 2 weeks because I am in the middle of H-E-DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS month. I am currently leading the 2 Girl Scout troops, planning an investiture ceremony for all 18 girls (and subsiquently dealing with a sticky situation with a co-leader and her hubby - AGH! why are people so difficult), heading up cookie sales for my area, just became a trainer for this Girl Scout council, helping with the Christmas program at church, playing my flute (which I haven't played regularly for about 10 years) in the Christmas program at church, and trying to prepare for my parents Thanksgiving visit plus extras for dinner that day. Why is it that my parents ALWAYS come to visit at the very WORST possible time? Oh, I almost forgot, I am also trying to get our troop coordinated for a Christmas parade and find donating sponsors. UGH! So, you can see that I have absolutely no time to have any fun this month. I am already feeling guilty about not really seeing Keith and the kids that much, especially with Keith leaving after Christmas. I have told EVERYONE that I will not be dealing with ANYTHING from December 20th through January 3rd (Keith's leave time), so they had better pester me before then or else!
Oh, Joyce, sounds like you did a great job on your cane. I say decorate everything you want, I'm sure it will all look down right snazzy! As for the craft training I am giving, I will be showing 75 people how to make a beadie candle necklace. Ok, a beadie candle is a candle shaped doohickie made from beads and cording. I have entitled it Kwanzaa Kinara Beadie Candle. I will also be lecturing for about 20 mins and displaying other various multi-cultural crafts (which I still have to put together before Thursday at 6:30!). If anyone wants directions for this craft please email me with beadie craft in the subject line and I will be happy to send the directions to you.
Ok, so let me say that I usually don't spread myself so thin, but things just kept coming up and while I have said no to a few things, I have found myself in a position where no wasn't an option so I have had to take on another job. With that said, all of that malarky is coming to an end and I am saying NO!!!! to the next request made at least until things settle a bit for me. Please, no lectures ladies, I am lecturing myself enough lately. I will let ya'll know that I did say to heck with it Tuesday morning and laid down and slept like a log right after the girls left until about noon. I can't afford to be sick right now so I am making rest (when I can get it) a priority.
I see that I have written a saga, so I'll say TTFN now!

Now, I hope that link works for you. If it doesn't let me know and I'll send the invite to you directly. I have a very long e-mail I typed up about our trip so maybe I'll try to post it here after this.
WELCOME Kelly!! I'm so glad you found us! Normally you'd find me on the front porch with my glass of water, sweet tea or a diet Dr. Pepper but today, it's hot chocolate time! I have a good e-mail buddy that lives in N. Georgia but on the other side close to Chattanooga and is actually in the process of moving across the state line this month. I just don't understand why ya'll feel like that TN address is so much better. You should just move on back across that line. LOL!
I live in Rex in the tiny portion that is in Henry County, down close to the Hartsfield/Jackson/Atlanta/whatever the heck they are calling it these days airport. LOL! Terry and I have been married 22 years and have 4 daughters. We homeschool and I type newsletters for a local church and our homeschool group. I dabble in Melaleuca, Usborne Books and Affordable Luxuries Candles.
Stacy, I hope you continue making time for rest. I know what you mean about turning things down and yet still ending up with way too much taking up your time. It's frustrating but you have set a deadline and so you know it will end soon. That's good.
Pag, I'm so sorry about Butch. I'm glad you are keeping busy but don't eat too much of that stuff at once and make yourself sick! I would definitely let Imp help with the tree. My girls started helping and not messing with ours around age 4 I guess.
Candy, I know JUST what you mean about the learners permit thing. Sarah will be 15 on Dec. 4 and Savannah will become a teenager the following Saturday on the 11th!! They are growing up WAY too fast. And I already know from watching Sarah that in about 3 weeks Savannah will turn into one of these LOL! She was always one to get up early in the mornings but she is already practicing for her b'day and sleeping much later these days.
Joyce, I think I will indeed write it down . I think that was the shortest post you have ever made here. LOL! I hope you are warm and enjoying your day!
Kim, enjoy your day off! I guess you'll probably be working in the new house. Do you have a tenative move-in date? I can't remember if you've said.
Well, good morning to everyone I didn't mention by name! I read all the posts but I can't remember everything I wanted to reply to and I need to get up from here and get busy. I'm still trying to get caught up on all the and around here. They need an icon of someone washing dishes to go with those. LOL!
Have a wonderful day!!

So far it appears it will let you in. Once you get there, just click where it says "Slide Show" on the right side and it will show them to you at a nice size with the captions under them.
If for some reason you still can't get in, e-mail me directly and I'll send you a direct invite to view the album.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I feel at home already!
Stacey, Sounds like you are spread a little thin. I know what you mean though. I am a leader for a Cub Scout den and am very active with our pack. I didn't start out being a leader but there was no one else that would volunteer. I must say I really enjoy it but sometimes it gets to be a little too much with everything else I have going on too! We are rapping up our big fundraiser and planning our holiday activities. We are trying to get our float ready for the Christmas parade too. I also am having a "situation" with an assistant den leader that is causing me a great deal of stress. Sounds like we have alot in common!
Martie, I may just move across that state line someday! I really love North GA. But I will still be a Vols fan. Go Big Orange!LOL
Well...once again thanks for making me feel welcome. I must go do some chores before I go to work. (That is not fair, I have to work before I go to work) LOL
Have a great day!
Kelly

I left the Atlanta Airport at 10:45 on Saturday morning and arrived in New Orleans at 11:15 where I met up with the other 9 in our group. By the time I got there Sandra had already dropped my mom's suitcase on her big toe and was bleeding pretty bad. I saw her toe on the last day just before I left them to fly home and it looked really bad even then.
They had found someone to load all the luggage on one of those little handtruck type things and he took us outside and waved down a taxi van. Those guys worked pretty hard to get all that luggage in the back and everything. Oh, but Jolene and Cindy had already left the airport before I got there. Cindy's mom lives in N.O. and so she had picked them up with their luggage earlier so she could spend time with Cindy. So 8 ladies and their luggage to get to a boat. LOL! We tipped those guys pretty good for handling all that luggage. Then the taxi was $12 each person!! I was amazed but I never take taxi's anywhere and am told that was a pretty decent price.
We arrived, checked in with our tickets and birth certificates and photo ID's and then were told to sit in some chairs. Well, none of us who had cruised before remembered doing this so we started asking questions. Turns out some computer had gone down that takes your photo for your ID that lets you on and off at the ports and such. They got it running again just long enough for us to make it through the line that takes your fun picture getting on the boat and then we stopped again. We stood there for a solid hour waiting for that computer to be fixed. Finally, the line started moving again and we were only about 40 minutes late leaving the port. However, they had a lunch buffet we were all starving to get to since none of us had anything since very early that morning. We figured we missed it but we managed to get up there just a few minutes before they closed it to set up for dinner.
BTW, They had the BEST hot chocolate in the Lido Restaurant. LOL! I drank a bunch of it all week and I miss it this week. They also have the best De Chevre Pizza. It had portabello mushrooms and goat cheese with a little white sauce. YUM!
My mom and I headed to the spa Saturday afternoon with my sisters (Penny and Stacy) and Cindy. (Cindy is Penny's sis-in-law). They were all bargaining with the lady in charge for different treatments. Mom and I opted for a Frangipani massage - head, neck and shoulders. Mom had gotten her hair fixed on Friday and wanted it to stay nice for the formal dinner on Sunday night so she just had her neck and shoulders done. It was SO nice. Just sit and be pampered for 30-45 minutes.
Mom and I headed back to our rooms so I could wash the oils out of my hair and found that Penny had our only room key because her key wasn't working. So I camped in Mom and Stacy's room and washed my hair there. I was pulling off my shirt and she said something about closing the curtains. Well, we're at sea, who is going to be peeking in? You know? I wanted to see the water and we could tell we were moving. Of course, about the time I came out of the bathroom with my shirt off and a towel on my head, some boat or barge went by. We just laughed. I don't think they were close enough to see us but mom was like "Well, they'll never see us again anyway I guess."
My original messae was 14371 characters so I'm chopping it off to send in another message.
