I hope you are feeling better by the time you read this. I know how terrible you feel. Hang in there and wish I was closer- I'd come help you. I prayed for you as soon as I read your post. Keep us informed, if you can. Get lots of rest!!
Martie, the log cabin and the acreage sound great. We always wanted to live in a log cabin. That is great you live so close to McDonough. My schedule is flexible. Ally and I go to the tournament some but she gets bored so we don't stay all day. I am going to try and get the team rooms at the Best Western. We stayed there last year and it was nice and had an indoor pool which Ally loved. I'll let you know. Maybe your kids could come and swim if I get the rooms. Ally loves Build a Bear too.
I miss all of you. Hope all is going well. We had a slumber party Fri nite and I didn't get to sleep for good until 4 am. I tried to sleep at 1 but the girls got scared and woke me up. I had a good time with them though. Makes me feel young to hang out with them;however missing sleep makes me feel very old!!! Dh was at a coaches clinic in Atlanta so he missed out on the fun. I know he hated that! He has come home with gifts for me for several days- saying they are Valentine presents. Very unusual but nice and I like it!
My Siberian Huskey which is a true member of our family got loose the other day. He was found 2 1/2 miles away 3 hrs after he got loose. No wonder they make good sled dogs! He was tired when he got home.
Kim go get or get Jimmy to go get you some good books and some good movies and take it easy. So glad the doctors don't think it is cancer.
linnea, that is great you found your dog. Did you figure out how he got out? I knew you had a lab but didn't know you had a Siberian Husky, those are beautiful dogs. That would be great if you and martie could hook up when you are in town. Sounds like Steve is really getting into Valentines this year. Don't know what Jerry and I are going to do for Valentines, haven't really even talked about it yet. We got snow yesterday, it only gave us a light dusting everywhere and is still there this morning and it sure looks pretty. I just wish we would have gotten more, it came down pretty heavy at times but the ground just wasnt' cold enough. The sun is out now so I imagine it will be gone soon.
Slumber parties are always fun, sleepless nights for the most part but fun.
martie, Skylar sounds like Lacy, she always picks Red Lobster for her birthday dinner. Lacy loves the snow crabs. A log cabin on 7 acres sounds great.
Pag I hope you are feeling better this morning. Stay in bed and get plenty of rest and drink lots of liquids. Remember you don't always have to be super granny, there are others in the house, let them help.
Joyce I'm glad you hung your painting, I bet it looks great on the wall and you can see it everytime you sit down to your computer. Speaking of which I'm glad it is out of the shop and well again. We are suppose to get DSL up here within two months or that is what they are saying anyway. I sure hope their right. I know the 5 days helps right now with E. out of work but just don't work yourself to death. When your not working rest, rest, rest your legs and back. Let E. take up the slack on the cooking and housework for now.
Stacey are you moving this weekend?
martie prayers for your friends neighbor's family and your hairdressers brother. Stacey still praying for Matthew and prayers for everyone that is sick on here.
Hello beloved porch gang, a few moments of peace and quiet in here right now. Adam came in and told me to get IMP dressed to go out to play left up to IMP he would have school clothes on lol. So they are outside.
I am almost afraid to say it but I think I am beginning to feel better sure hope so as going for blood work tomorrow for impending surgery the 18th. The DR I saw at the Med Care Center said the meds I am on will not affect my blood work but to tell them what I am on. So will do that. Will be good to get out of house for a bit even to the hospital . But I know lots at that hosp so after the blood work if I feel up to it will go diff sections and say hello.
Thanks for caring all oh yes that cabin on the 7 acres sounds like a dream. Hope you have many happy years there. God bless and love to all,

Well, really quick because my shoulder/neck are killing me today - we looked at the cabin and while we love the property and location, the house was just too small for our family. If we were looking to retire and didn't have all 4 kids at home but 2 or 0, it would be perfect!
We also looked at another home here in Stockbridge where we knew the kids that grew up in it. Their mom died last year and they are trying to close the estate. The house would be perfect but if spending that much, we can build and have twice the acreage where we already own property which is only about a mile away.
I think we need to just build on our property but it's one of those cases where Terry needs to come to that same decision on his own and think it was his idea.;-)
Well, good night! He said he would rub my shoulder and neck if I came on to bed.

Doris, when you say "Atlanta" do you mean in town or one of the suburbs? I ask because Terry works in Buckhead - just north of what is considered downtown and he drives about 25 miles each way. Let me know what you have in mind and I can give you info on the south side anyway.
We've been busy. Saw some nice snow flurries this morning but of course, nothing stuck and the girls and I were all disappointed about that.
The youth group put on a nice Valentine dinner Saturday evening. It was by donation and they raised a good amount. The youth from as young as pre-k through high school did the serving and entertainment.
Well, I need to get off here and help the girls get some lunch fixed. Hope everyone else is just busy and not sick. We had our share of that last week around here.

We are successfully moved! That's not to say that we have totally unpacked, but we're here and our house is starting to resemble a home. At least the kitchen is all done including the cabinet unit Keith had to make for me so that I had a bank of drawers and a large cabinet to hold my appliances. Our kitchen is huge, but the cabinets are old and tiny with NO drawers. I was freaking out, because I have a ton of kitchen junk and I had no place to put it all. Anyway, this coming weekend we are painting all of Emma's furniture with left over white paint that Wilson (our land lord) gave us. Then we'll start on our bedroom furniture getting around to the living and family rooms last. That stuff looks ok as is, but I want to spruce it up a bit and make it fresh with a coat of paint. I do love our house. It's not huge-huge, but it is the biggest house we've ever lived in and we are way comfortable in the space. We have been sitting down to meals at the table like a real family, something we've never been able to do before. What can I say? This is the happiest I've been since my first year of marriage! The girls started school today, their school is so tiny only one classroom per grade. It's a real rural area and everyone knows everyone. We've already been visited by people from 2 different churches (ok except that I hate drop in visits) and almost everyone in the area knows we're the new family here. It amazes me really.
Sorry to hear about all the illness going around. The only thign going on here is that I have a pesky cold that won't shake loose. I will keep you ladies in my thoughts.
If you are wondering about my nephew, they are preparing my sil & bil for his release from the hospital. They have determined that he doesn't need his trachea and therefore are going to close it. They are doing some very aggressive therapy with him in order to try and wake him from the coma and they will be trying some different type of drug therapies usually used for depression to see if they will stimulate hormones in his brain and help him to come out of the coma. Regardless, he will be going home and receiving full time care there. I was amazed that they would do this, but after I thought about it I decided that by his going home Jerry & vivki and the other 2 children can get on with the business of living and coping in this new way and that it will be good for all of them. I do hope he wakes from his coma but as time goes on I feel there is less and less chance of his recovering fully. Jerry and Vicki are still asking that people keep praying for his full recovery and so that's what I do.
Anyway, I gotta go get something going for dinner (everything is still frozen and I have defrost!) We are having that icky icy rain here with possibility of snow tonight. I have been avoiding going out to my freezer in the shop because the back steps are icy. Oh well, guess I'll have to walk around from the side of the house <sigh>
Have a good day ladies!!

Thanks for the update on Matthew! I'm passing it on to my list of people I'd asked to pray for him.
Sounds like you have a nice area to live and raise your family. I'm glad you are so happy right now. I hope it lasts a lifetime!
Gotta go. I have 2 little ones *cleaning* the bathroom and 2 older ones who are *supposed* to be emptying a dishwasher and cleaning up some in the kitchen. I gotta put the pressure on so it actually gets done.

I have missed you guys so much! I need to back up and see what everyone is up to. I just thought I'd pop in and ask for prayers... tomorrow at 8:30 am I'm having another surgery. I should be good at this but I still get sooo nervous!! I'll be sure to pop in again when I'm up and around. This time they're doing my left arm and my neck so I should see good results! Wish me luck.
Hugs
Christy
