Mouse, I'm glad Lacy is well again. That stinks missing so much right at before the holidays. We never made it to either place yet. Decided the mansion will have to wait til next year. We just were too busy to get it in since I ended up having to track down another Old Navy store to get the coat Savannah wanted.
I'd recommend the drive down to Stone Mountain or check out Life College (I have a link somewhere!) before I gave Lake Lanier $30 for a car load. SHEESH! Life College is $5 per car and Stone Mountain is $8 unless you want to go into the Village and do the fun stuff they have in there. Wish we could afford to go in but this year it will just be driving through.
I did find out there is a free ballet - can't remember the name of it right now - but it will be at the Clayton Performing Arts center on Friday and Saturday the 22nd and 23rd. I've requested tickets for the matinee on Saturday.
This Friday we will see the Nutcracker at the Fox. I know it will be a shortened version but I don't care. It was only $8 each instead of $26-$80! or even the $15 the local places wanted around here.
We had our Mom's Night Out for our homeschool group last night. It was fun. I think there were 12 of us. We each brought an ornament to swap. We just passed them all around the table until 2 moms yelled stop at the same time. It was funny because it wasn't planned but they were both holding something that wasn't wrapped or in a bag and wanted to keep it. Ends up everyone got ornaments they really liked.
I made the one I took and told the mom who got it that if she didn't like it I'd take it back. It was a lot of work. She loved it though and was trying to figure out how to make them herself. LOL! They were easy but still a ton of work. I made it out of plastic canvas which is a pain to cut when you are doing more intricate patters like stars and I had to cut 15 stars for the one ornament. It made a 3-D star with a bell hanging out the bottom. I took a picture so when I get them uploaded I'll try to post it for you to see.
Now I'm working on crocheting a tree skirt. We got a live tree this year for the first time in forever. I'm hoping to get it put in the house tonight sometime and decorate it tonight and tomorrow. Thankfully the piano teacher called and after discussing it we cancelled lessons until January 3rd so that gives us extra time tomorrow.
Thursday morning we have our homeschool party and then that evening the girls have their choir concerts. Friday is the Nutcracker and then next week will be pretty empty of commitments. YEAH!! I need to spend time wrapping gifts and making sure I'm not missing anything.
Well, I need to go. Terry got new pants that I need to take to have cuffed for his inseam (26.5"). Have a wonderful evening!!

Hey martie, we have done the Life College lights the last few years so may do the Stone Mountain ones this year. I do hate to pay the $30.00 for Lake Lanier and actually since we have a van it will be a little more than that. I did fine out about a place in Cartersville that does a hay ride and lights so am going to call tomorrow and check on that one. Plus there use to be a place in Dallas that one of the car dealerships families owned that had a lot of lights and it was either free or a donation (can't remember) but anyway we are sure to find places to see lights without paying the $30.00. Michael's girlfriend was the one pushing Lake Lanier. I can't believe hardly no one in our neighborhood has decorated, guess maybe cause most of them are very young couples and they just don't have the time or interest.
I just can't get into ballet, I love plays and the symphony orchestra but don't like ballets or opera. I had wanted to take Lacy to the Nutcracker for several years now but know I just can't sit through the program. I love watching the kids do the tap dancing but ballet is just weird to me.
Glad you have a week off coming up to catch up and rest a little.
hugs,
mouse

Thought for the Day
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream;
Not only plan, but also believe.
Has anyone been to that dinner and horse show in Lawrenceville? I forget what it is called right now and the paper is upstairs. We are thinking of taking Michael there for his 20th birthday next week but I was wondering is anyone had been there and what they thought.
Mouse, that is Medieval Times, and it is supposed to be really spectacular. But it is **very** pricey! $$$ Unless you have a large groups (15+) it will run you about $60 per person!!!!! Our Red Had group was going to go, and with 15+ we could get in for $49 each. We decided to not go - too pricey for several members who are on very limited, fixed incomes.
RATS!! Won't be able to visit with Joyce today - 2 "rush" cases came in - due today and tomorrow - and I'll be working my "fingies" off getting them done. Can't even go to PT today! DOUBLE RATS!!!
Kimmyo - didn't get the attachment you sent. Would you try again??
The lights tours sound great. There oughta be a list of all the places with lights around GA posted on the web somewhere!
Well, gotta sign off, now. Have too much work to do. Will have to do at least some exercises here at the house, although not my whole routine. They've "ok'd" me to use the ol' curmudgeon's Bowflex - **carefully** and **slowly** and **gently**!! That will start this weekend. Wish me luck!
Cheerio!

Elizabeth I got a coupon for Medieval Times where we can all get in for $50.00 a person and Michael is free since it is his birthday. I want to do something really special for his birthday so I think that is where we will go. One question we live right off 1-75 N. how do we get to Lawrenceville and where the heck is Lawrenceville? Jerry is suppose to look it up but sometimes the boy is sooooo slow at getting stuff done I know he will wait until the last minute to look it up and I like to know ahead of time.
Don't work to hard today.

Good evening, y'all, hope everyone is well and comfortable, and at least close to being ready for Christmas.
February 7th sounds good to me, but I'll have to drag E. with me, as I don't drive. Anyone else going to bring a man with them? Is it legal, lol?!?! I supposed I could make him wait in the truck.............
Don't really have much to say, I just read two pages to catch up, lol. Y'all sound busy getting ready for the holidays, and in good moods, and that's great. I didn't realize I was so far behind...again...it just sorta happens to me.
So, hope all y'all have a good night's rest, a good Friday, and then a good weekend.
God bless.

Hello Georgia, I am sure some of you have heard, but for those who have not, I have some sad news to pass on.
Our Carol Ann, Autumnmum, went to heaven yesterday. Her family is very distraught and grieving. Please keep them in your prayers. She was such a dear, kind hearted lady, one of the first ones I met when I joined here and I just bawled when in was given this news today.
It blesses my heart to know she is in no more pain, but she will be so missed. If you go to the coupon thread, you can leave your condolences for the family.
One question we live right off 1-75 N. how do we get to Lawrenceville and where the heck is Lawrenceville?

Hi Mouse!
Your best bet is to come down I-75 to I-285, go east on I-285 to I-85, then go north on I-85 to the Sugarloaf Parkway exit. I can't remember if that is a Cloverleaf or not, but you want to go to the right side of I-85.
Discover Mills is hard to miss - it's a big mall, but not as big as Mall of GA! LOL!
Here's the URL for the Mall directory and map:http://tinyurl.com/yczmfx
Closest entrance to Medieval Times is Entrance #6. It's to the right of Burlington Coat Factory.
Have a wonderful time!
I, too, am totally upset after hearing about Carol Ann - Autumnmum. May her memory be eternal.
Today is an ~ugh~ day. Medicine reacting poorly with my tummy, and I have a sore throat, drippy nose and cough - but it doesn't feel like a cold - kinda mild, but I'm just totally dragged out. Got work to do, so can't post for long.
Didn't make it down to see Joyce - urgent cases plus the "cold" made it impossible. But I'm gonna try for next week.
Have gotten lots of positive responses about lunch in Feb. Will post a list of restaurants in the Cumberland Mall area for us to choose from unless you trust my judgement - in which case I'll make the selection. I was right about the location, by the way - that will be just about in the middle of us! And since it is just off I-285 and I-75, it will be easy to get to.
Later, gaters!
Cheerio!
Elizabeth
