Patti so glad you and your family are safe. Its good that you found out about these problems early in your move..I'm sorry you didn't get to stay there but at least you are back around familiar people. Safe is far better than being sorry....I wish you luck...maybe you will find another place that will work out for you.
Hi Shanti...welcome back and glad to meet ya...my name is Debbie and look forward to chatting with ya.
Mom2Two...your night out sounded so wonderful how exciting...and and evening gown to boot ...how good was that. Did you dh have a tux on? I bet you two looked terrrific.
Kelly..welcome back. So glad you had a great time in Fla. Did you bring back a tan for all your co workers to envy...lol
So sorry about your car troubles too. Like you my car is paid for too...a lot of good it does cause it doesn't run...grrrrr..I bought my car brand new back in 2000. We originally bought it for my daughter's graduation and she bought her an Suv Nissan Exterra and she gave us the Accent back to us.
My dh and I are saving every extra penny to buy a new truck. We want a truck cause my dh likes to haul things and we like to go to the auctions and we need a truck to carry the stuff we buy. But first I am trying to get a job here in town..
I have a question for any of you ladies...What kind of stay at home employment are there that maybe I can get into..Maybe I can do that to bring in some money. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

everyone. This is just a brief check-in, as we're heading to the Georgia Aquarium in around 1/2 an hour. (My mom's come down for a belated birthday get-together, and she decided to treat us to an outing.)
If any of you want to see what I looked like for my 'big date', go to http://www.myspace.com/gwenivere1967 Just keep in mind that I normally dress in blue jeans and t-shirts or sweatshirts. LOL.
Have a wonderful, wonderful day everyone! I need to go make myself some hot chocolate and wake up...

thanks Debbie, there is a house next door to where Gina and Kent live that is across the street from where I TRIED to live lol. IF it becomes for sale and the price right then Gina and Kent will buy it and then we will move there. It is a pretty place with LOTS of yard but this ole gal will not have to worry about it being mowed that would be Adam's job or James' (he is the one who mowed my lawns after I lost Otto and before Adam got old enough. Going off with Susie today for few errands and just to be together I need a "Susie Fix" lol

Well the new house is ours, we just got back from signing the note and our lives away it seemed like. We signed the papers on the one we are in now Wednesday and will be moved out in 30 days. We will move a little this weekend but then Jerry is on his 24 hours call all next week so we won't get a lot moved that week at all, just stuff packed. We are going out tonight to eat at a new Chinese place that opened up in Calhoun to celebrate.
martie how ya doing? I have a question for you or for your hubby. Since ya'll seem to know a lot about vehicals and we know little about them--Yesterday the van started dying everytime we idle for like more than 3 minutes. As long as we are driving it drives smooth and no problems but if we are like in line at the MacDonalds waiting to get fries or something and there is a long line it is going to die. Any ideas what the problem could be? I sure hope it isn't anything big cause we just got the van paid off this year.
mom2two its good to see you again. You looked beautiful in your dress. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. What did you think of the Georgia Aquarium? We tried to go last year but when we called to reserve tickets we couldn't get any so we will probably go sometime this summer.
Ditzy and Kelly potato salad and baked beans sounds good. I was thinking of doing like barbecue chicken and burgers and all the fixings. Plus something for desert. Give me a month or two to get moved in and then we will do it. Ditzy if I can talk linnea into coming she lives by you so we will get her to pick you up.
Ditzy sorry I don't have any ideas for home employment, wish I could help you. I know some people make pretty good selling stuff on e-bay but I don't know how to do that. Maybe you could get sea shells and make necklaces out of them and sell them on e-bay or something like that. Or sell them to folks that don't live by a beach for when they have beach parties by their swimming pools. How is the job hunting coming along?
Mouse, good for you on the house. I know you will be so relieved to get moved into that new house.
Ok, so I survived surgery. Today was the 1st day in 4 days that I actually had something real to eat and honestly, I thought I was going to die the whole time. I was getting light headed so I knew I had to have food, but I won't be back to eating regularly for sometime that's for sure! Between the nasal stuff and the throat stuff I am fairly miserable. I have quit smoking. It really hasn't been that hard on me. It is killing Keith, but that's too bad. We said we'd quit and I am more than ready to. Besides, I have some serious goals -- like being able to walk up my stairs without panting like a fool, plus all that money I am saving can go toward all the cool art projects I have in mind. Smoking just doesn't fit into our lives anymore. Most of the people we know don't smoke, smoking isn't as accepted as it used to be, and it's getting down right expensive. Frankly, with gas prices as high as they are I can't afford to smoke anymore. Oh well, at the very least when I can taste food again it should taste terrific!
All right ladies, take care!!!!

Mouse....congrats on your new house..maybe you can take it a little at a time to move since you have 30 days..
My dh says it could be a fuel problem...maybe a fuel hose or pump..your oil filter can be dirty and clogged...try changing it..just some suggestions...hope they help.
I appreciate the offer of a ride up to your new house but I will have to pass because the job hunting is not going well at all and I have decided to move back home to New Orleans..for about 14 months to make enough money to buy us a new vehicle. I will be living with my sister and bil and take some of our savings and buy a small used car down there to get to work.. My sister says that there are people begging people to come to work down there..and they are paying up to 15.oo an hour..for the same thing I was doing here. So I have to go with it and do what I gotta do to get us some transportation. My dh is so very understanding and supportive of this and I know this will help us a lot. I am in a better position to do this than he is . He will stay here and pay for everything (household expenses) and everything I make is gonna go for a vehicle..So I need ya'll to pray for me.
The only bad thing to this is I won't have access to a computer and I will lose contact with all of you which is gonna make me sad. I don't know if their library's have puters or not. I will look into it though. I will be leaving on April 10. Not working is not an option for me. I already have cabin fever now....lol.
Momto3...so glad you are through with your surgeries..I am praying for you for a speedy recovery..I was so pleased to hear you quit smoking..keep it up and if you need a shoulder or to vent....I'll be right here for ya.
Good luck and hang in there.
Sorry this post is so long I just wanted to let all of you know about my plans for the next year or so and to also let you know that I will be thinking of all of you and hopefully I will be able to keep up with FC while i am in New Orleans...I am not really looking forward to going back there...kinda got used to country living with all the peace and quiet...gonna be a real shock to go back to a big city....I have been here in the country since "97 not looking forward to all the traffic and noise.
Well sorry this is so long so I will go for now and hope to continue with you all again soon.
Debbie

Debbie we will miss you but you gotta do what you gotta do right. Hope the library can let you stay in touch now and then. I will be having 2 minor procedures done on the 14th one by Urologist and the other by GYN that way I only have to be "put under" one time. I will be staying overnite and come home sometime Saturday. Keep me in prayer please thanks

Hi Patty...thank you for your well wishes...I will keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery and that God will heal you quickly. At least you will have it all done at once instead of going under more than once.
Good Luck Patty....I wish you well

Thank you Debbie, yes being put under once and not twice is why my DR's and myself opted to do it this way. I don't come "out" of it that well is one reason we chose this way. Oh also found out yesterday NO back surgery for me at least not until/unless the pain gets where I simply can not handle it. Recovery is not always easy for some one in my age bracket so will grin and bear it tillllllllll and for now knee surgery is not being done either.

Patty...I bet you glad to hear that you won't be having back and knee surgery..I am so glad for you and hope you will not have to much pain. I'm sure going up and down the steps at your house does not help much.
I have a bone spur in my lower back and my Dr. wants to cut me open to see if it is pressing on my nerve and if so he wants to get in there and prod and poke....I told him no way..I will live with the pain..after all I must be dealing with it if I bend over and make about 20 beds a day..at least I used to until 2 weeks ago when I had a job...Let me know how it turns out ...hopefully I will still get online in New Orleans..I hate the thought of being out of contact with FC.
Talk to ya soon
Debbie
