Good morning all,

Yesterday I walked on my tread mill, I had to do it in 15 minute sections but at least I started walking. This morning I did that Denise Austin workout that comes on TV at 7:00. All those stretches made me find muscles I didn't know were there. I am going to walk on the tread mill later this evening or maybe walk outside with Jerry.

Good start Sharona, I may have to quit drinking coffee cause I don't like the fake sugars out there and don't care to much for coffee without the sugar and cream but I love OJ in the morning anyway.

Dianne glad your hubby got you some scales so you can keep up with how you are doing. I wouldn't try to weigh every day if I were you though. I weigh about every 3 or 4 days, I think you are suppose to do it once a week but I don't like waiting that long.

martie and Kelly keep up the good work. Kelly that is great that you are already losing a few pounds. I will weigh again on Thursday and will be so happy if I have lost even 1 pound. martie good luck at the doctors tomorrow and keep drinking that water.

leigh how is the walking going? Grab those girls and walk down the driveway or the road or around the yard and have a contest. See how many things you can see that start with the letter "A" like ant, acorn, etc. or see how many different insects you can find or animals like cat, dog, squirrel. Good luck.

Good morning everyone,

This thread is such good motivation for me. I'm sure I will be posting here often. I'm actually excited about getting in shape. I'm not hung up on a # that I want to weigh, I just want to feel good again and try to get off some of these BP meds I am taking. I will never be without them completely but I am currently on 3 and the DR keeps increasing the strength.

Way to go everyone, Martie, glad you made it to curves today. Mouse good for you on the walking and workout. Dianne glad you got your scales. I need to get some too. I ment to get some at Wal Mart the other day but I forgot. Sharona, you are right, take it slow. Parking far away in the parking lot is a great idea. I'm going to do that too! Leigh, good luck on the walking. Don't be too hard on yourself. You have to start somewhere. Don't try to start with a marathon. The way I see it every little bit helps.

Hugs,
Kelly

Hey,

I could really do without the Red Lobster ads on the FC home page. Have you guys noticed those or am I just hungry this morning? The crab legs and lobster are coming right out of the computer seams like

Well, I didnt do as much walking yesterday as I wanted to, but I did walk up to my in-laws house and back, that would be about a mile. DH is off work today, so I will be able to walk further because I wont have three little ones tagging along. We are leaving tomorrow morning to go to St. Simons with my aunt. So, I am going to get some walking in on the beach, that will be awesome. I will just have to really watch what I eat.

So, I guess after tonight, I wont "see" you guys for three days. I will miss you all and miss posting.

Kelly, I never go to the home page so I haven't been bothered with those ads. LOL!

Mouse, Have you given Splenda a try? I haven't met anyone who tried it and didn't like it in whatever. We use it to make a gallon of tea every night. And started that before Skylar was ever diagnosed - probably have been using it over a year now and I can't remember the last time I bought a bag of sugar.

No work out today - I am bloated and started this morning. Not sure if I'll make it to work out tomorrow afternoon either - depends on how I feel after my physical in the morning.

I have a friend that gave me 9 bags of clothes (white garbage bags) to go through. I gave some - about 1 1/2 bags to a friend today when we sorted through them but I don't think I'll be keeping any. I'll see if my sis-in-law can wear some and wants any but most of them are actually too big for me (YEAH!) so I think I'll take them to Curves for people to go through and then I'll call AKF to come get the rest.

Now, where is my water glass???????

Martie, I have tried Splenda...and I do not like it. It leaves an aftertaste that I don't like. We use it for our 5 year old however, and she doesn't say anything about it. I had rather use Sweet N Low for myself.

I weighed myself this morning and weighed 206. Blood sugar is at 383. Sure do have my work cut out for me. We took a slow walk tonight. The air quality is at UNHEALTHY in our area, and i have asthma, so we did not exert ourselves. However, I sure did enjoy the wonderful full moon!

Going to the grocery store tomorrow to get things for lunches, and snacks. Today was a little difficult, but I made it.

Dianne...I'm with you, I don't care for Splenda either. I prefer Sweet n' Low over all others. I have been using it on my Special K in the mornings and always use it in my tea. 206 is less than you thought right. I too have my work cut out for me with my BP numbers but I know we can do it!

I went to the gym yesterday and walked 1.3 miles on the treadmill. I am trying to do a gradual increase in speed and length.

I have been looking at the nutritional value menus of some fast food places online. I am trying to find the best thing to eat at some of the ones we frequent the most. That way when I am out doing errands or Alex and I are out in town, at least I will know what to order. When I get it all figured out I would be glad to post it here if anyone is interested. It is unrealistic for me to think that I won't eat out. At least I will be able to make an informed decision.

Hugs,
Kelly

I've walked and watered so far today. Supper tonight is going to be veggie fajita's with low fat cheese and sour cream. Need to take another walk tonight, and will continue with water for the rest of the day.

We don't care for any of the artificial sweetners here, either. I make a gallon of iced tea and use only 1/2 cup of sugar, so I don't think that is too bad. I don't like soda for the most part, so water will be my way to go.

Off to climb the stairs. I certainly don't need a stairstepper since my computer is up 2 flights. LOL

Wow now this is weird, it will take a little time getting use to the new look. I haven't done anything today. Will probably walk some this evening. I hope I didn't lose my mouse that goes with all my posts. Won't know until I post I reckon. Think we are doing salmon patties or tuna patties for dinner. I've tried Splenda martie and don't really care for it, if I used it enough I would probably get use to it and not even be able to tell the difference, it is just the getting use to it that would be hard. We have used the sweet and low I think (whatever the blue one is) a few times cause it was in the pantry and we were out of sugar and it wasn't real bad but I am not good at change of any kind.

I would be interested in knowing which fast foods are decent Kelly so let us know. I mean I already know a chicken sandwich is probably much better than a hamburger but.....some other ideas would be good also.

That is good Dianne that you weigh less than you thought you did. I am actually 175, not 173 like I thought. I had just assumed since I had been 173 for so long. The moon was beautiful last night wasn't it.

martie how did your physical go? Very good I hope.

leigh have a great time on vacation.

Everyone seems to be doing really good with the exercise and walking.

Kelly the Red Lobster ads always look good to me where ever I see them, I just love lobster, scallops, snow crabs, shrimp and even oysters. Here lately the ads that really get me though are those Picadilly ads they are putting on TV now, I keep wanting to find a Picadilly near me and go. I don't need to do that right now.
