I do scrapbooking, make beaded jewelry, make gift for friends or family, I made white Christmas wreath from plastic grocery bags and a wire hanger. I also made a green Christmas wreath years ago and it is still used to this day. I make magnetic photo holders using metal ends from frozen juice cans and sticky magnetic strip tape. I have cross stitched in the past as well as have done latch hook pieces. Also hand sew items with fabric from simple wall hangings to ornaments. One year for Christmas I made some fabric heart shaped ornaments for a gift. Also have stitched someone's name into something as a gift, like a pillow case or such. I have stitched someone's intials on fabric pieces I made. Also I know how to draw designs using liquid embrodiery tubes too. I am always creating something. I even painted a tv tray table top with a lighthouse scene the other day. I have even put names on ornaments using glue and glitter, or even made ornaments from simple things like cinnamon, glue and a few other things. You use cookie cutters to make the shaped of the ornaments, similar to salt dough ornaments, but they use ground cinnamon and they continue to smell good. I also have used leaves and paint to stamp on glass jars and then put a gift I made or bought inside it. Like I said I try my hand at everything at some point. I am creative and use what I have on hand too. I have a great niece or nephew going to be born in March of next year. I once taught my daughter to hand sew and we made a fabric doll together for a school project they had to do with their parent's help. Also recently taught my son to sew a button on, as he was adding buttons to a sock puppet he had made for school. My am thinking of learning to crochet too. My Mom can crochet and does that a lot. I can do basic sewing with a sewing machine. As I have a sewed pillow case from an old bed sheet my children didn't use. I make pillows sometimes too. Also I have made key chains and such or necklaces from charms and chain I bought at craft store.
Welcome Italys Girl, I live in Mena which is about as close to Oklahoma as you can get I think. If you get a chance you really should come see our sites. It was alot prettier before the tornado but there are still nice things to see.
I hope you enjoy our springtime here it is almost perfect.

Just been reading the thread and seems as if Arkansas is a sleep durning all this hot weather we are having. I live 15 miles from Ft. Smith in Lavaca. Out in the country. Have 4 grown children and 9 grandkids. Retired nurse and I sew and quilt and enjoy reading and garden. I found this site about a month ago and would like to talk to more people in Arkansas Have been here in Arkansas all my life.
Hello Nana9, I live in Mena, about 85 miles south of Ft. Smith. My daughter lives in Greenwood and is going to nursing school, she will be an RN in December. I love all crafts and sewing.
I try to decorate my home for all holidays and am always looking for new ideas.
I have 4 grandchildren 2 boys and 2 girls. My oldest grandson is 4 and loves to come stay with us (me and grandpa).
Both of my granddaughters live in Greenwood so I dont get to see them as often as I would like. My youngest granddaughter enjoys doing crafts with me.
It is nice to meet someone that is in the same state as I am in, I hope we can stay in touch.
Tina from Mena
Hello fellow Arkansans!! I'm originally from Arkansas but having been in the military since I was 17 (now almost 26) has taken me away from the State. I was born in Harrison, went to grade and middle school in Deer (ever heard of it), and graduated from high school in Siloam Springs. I'm now living in North Carolina because I'm stationed at Ft. Bragg with the Army.
I'd love to chat with anyone from those areas who might know some of my family. Dad's side are the Fords from Pelsor and mom's side are the Arnolds from Harrison and Bellfonte(sp)

Nikki, I live in Arkansas too, I live in a small town down the road from Mtn. Home, AR. I have been to Harrison several times. Also have been to Bellfonte. I know lots of places you talking about. I enjoy going to Eureka Springs from time to time. Hubby and I honeymooned in Eureka Springs, AR. A niece of mine got married in North Carolina. She lives in Arkansas though. Although, I have a niece who lives in VA and one who lives in Cape May, NJ. I don't know those families, but I do know Harrison, been there lots of times. I know some Ford's but don't think they are related to you. Nice to meet you. Hope to chat with you.
I know exactly where Mtn. Home is...I believe when I went to Deer we played them in basketball. I really like Eureka Springs as well unfortunately it's 45 minutes from Harrison so I don't get to go that often when I'm back home visiting. Thanks for replying and it's nice to meet you as well!!
