I love the city of Ft Smith. I lived there from 1998-19665. My grandfather had been a Dr. back in the 30's there. One of the schools I attended was Belle Grove, which both my grandpa and dad had also attended. Have many wonderful memories of there. Anyone go to Belle Grove, Belle Point, Darby or Ramsey during these years?

Hi to everyone! I'm new to this board and was checking to see how many were from Arkansas.
I live in in between Van Buren and Alma... I was across the river in Fort Smith, but I got tired of living right next door to Sparks Hospital and hearing sirens all hours of the day... so DH and I moved to the country. I moved to Arkansas 5 years ago from Indiana... I had to get out of flat land! I love camping here. Our favorite place to go hang out is Blue Mountain... DH and I carved our initials in the overlook the day after we were married!
Welcome! Hasen't been a lot of chatter on this board lately. I live in Springdale. Lived in Arkansas almost all my life. Have lived in Springdale most of it...about 35 years! Loved it until the last few years...growing tooooo big. Immigrant influx has changed things.

My DH worked up in Rogers for the past year and he hated it! Springdale got my best OB and I even went as far as to drive up there for a few visits, until winter and the ice storms came...
It's nice to find normal people from Arkansas, even if it's over the net... I swear everyone I come across down here either has totally opposite views and morals as mine or they are drunks! I finally gave up and secluded myself in my home with my family.:p
My son & I are collecting postcards from the USA and I was wondering if anyone from Arkansas could send us one. This is a fun project and I want to be able to show my son it can be done.
I just wanted to drop in and say hi to all you Arknasans. My family all live in the Rogers (Beaver Shores)-Bentonville area. I'll be going home this summer to visit them.
I didn't try to read this entire thread but did see the talk about War Eagle. GO even when there isn't a craft fair! Tis is an absolute must see destination whenever we're home for visits.
I lived for a few short months in the Ft. Smith area as well back in the 70's and this remains one of my favorite places on earth. It was such a great place to visit! Now that the by-pass is in the trip between Rogers and Ft. Smith is a lot less harrowing as well. Those mountains are gorgeous but scary to drive.
We'll only be there a week and could use twice that to be able to see/do all I'd like.
Jayne

I don't live in Arkansas, but my DS#1's "sperm donar" does. Do any of you have any dealings with the Child Support Enforcement Office there? If so, please PM me. I have lots of questions.
My niece is busy applying for all the financial help she can get to attend college this fall. Does anyone know of any businesses that might contribute that she could approach? We live in the NW Arkansas area.
