face creams and their promises...........

Do you find the swarm of face creams available to buy........and the promises they make.......overwhelming and confusing???!!!

Take Oil of Olay......their promise is to kiss the signs of aging goodbye!!
Then there is ROC...an age diminishing formula!
Anew promises to transform your skin!
Nivea has q10 and will control your wrinkles!!
And Neutrogena promises to firm your skin as you sleep!!!

Which face cream have you found that works the best for you?
Have you tried any of the above or others and found that their promises are true?

peace,train

I am 42 and started using Anew from Avon when I was 25. I love this stuff. I can really tell the difference and people are always saying I do not look my age.

Forget all that expensive stuff! Just look at the ingredients and go to the drug store and buy the inexpensive one that matches the ingredients. That may be Ponds, Suave, Cashmere Bouquet, or even the store brand. If you don't want premature aging skin stay out of the sun.

Get a copy of the book "Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me" by Paula Begoun -- it gives to the scoop on just about every face cream out there. Great information to help you make a decision!

Yeah, Ponds is a great product. Also, at night use an exfoliant on your skin. And don't do like me and wait until you start aging to use something on your skin. Don't spend your money on big name products that promise things that'll never be. I told both my DD's to start now and they won't look as bad as I do when they reach my age. Also, the sun is a very bad enemy of your skin. I've known several people who have had to have cancers removed from their face and they weren't old, except for one man I knew. Thank goodness I can't stand bright sunlight. So I'm outta there! ;-)

I have used Pond's for years and am happy with it...you know, all those magazine ads can make you crazy tho with all their promises and "buy me' buy me"!!!! It seems there are so many choices for everything from face cream to toothpaste!!!

I use St Ives apricot scrub on my face at night. Once in awhile I buy noxzema because I like the smell!!

Thanks for the book suggestion, Leslie! I will check it out.

Daisylady, what other Avon products do you recommend?

peace,train

Hi,
I don't chime in very often... but here goes!
I use Sauve's anti-wrinkle cream at night. I have dry skin on my eyelids (of all places) and prior to using this, the only thing that would help them was a dr prescription. I've also, on occasion, used plain old vaseline - a little greasy at night, but my skin feels great in the morning. (I read this beauty secret in a Doris Day article.) For blemishes, instead of those fancy skin masks, my sister uses Elmer's glue. It works great and she says makes her skin feel smooth.

I do not like Avon perfume much, but I love the Anew. I also like some of the body wash and I just ordered some of the new shampoo and conditioner. Some of the make up I like. The mascara keeps getting better. They have a new lone out called MARK, targeted at younger women that is kind of neat. And the Skin So Soft is great for everything...I use on the dogs and the screens.

Question

Daisylady, do you put the Skin so Soft on the screens for the mosquitoes? That would be neat, I've never heard of putting it on screens before. How long does it last on them?

I like Oil of Olay. My mom has always used it and no one thinks she looks her age. She just turned 62 but doesn't look it at all. She hasn't really been into the moisturizer habit for the last couple years but all her years of using it have really paid off. I've tried some of the less expensive ones like Suave and Equate but they seem to make my skin feel greasy. I've also tried the Vaseline trick and it makes your skin feel really soft but it is a tad greasy feeling when you sleep with it at night.
