Can anyone recommend a good facial hair remover?
I am so embarrassed to even ask this question but I figure since I share just about everything else here, I know that I will get some good advice. Here goes.....
Since my hormones are running wild from pregnancy, Im becoming fury in places that shouldnt have hair.....along the side of my face, the bottom of my ears and around my chin. I tried one kind of facial hair remover and it worked great along the sides of my face but burned the heck out of my chin---OUCH!!
Help!!!

I have the same problem! I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy and they told me that would cure my problem. A friend of mine has her facial hair removed with a laser, but she's blonde and they won't guarantee results on blondes, pluse it costs over $300.00.
I used a little battery operated thing that I bought on QVC but it doesn't work well at all!
I use Nair Faicial hair remover cream. There are two tubes in the package. One is the remover one is a soothing lotion for after use. I have never had problems with it burning my skin, but I'd always do a test on a small area before I went all out and did everything that was needed. Sometimes I use the soothing cream-sometimes I don't. It's a matter of timing that determines if I use it or not, not a matter of needing to use it.
Quite some time back, and I do not know if I read this in Heloise's daily column or Ann Landers, but regardless, they said to just shave it. I was shocked to hear that women actualy shaved their facial hair. They stated that it works and that, no, your hair will not come back in coarse like a man's beard.
I have a girlfriend who tried everything under the sun, and paid a fortune for numerous treatments. She finally decided to do this and has been doing it ever since. She mentioned she does it when she takes her shower and only has to do it at most, a couple times a week.
Hope you find the way which will provide the best results for you.
I just went through menopause and you get more facial hair then. I have a little bit of a light moustache. I bought some bleach for body hair and it really does bleach it. Then I decided to pull the hair above my lip with tweezers. That hurts. I am trying to see if maybe it might not come back. I haven't pulled all of it yet. Just on the edges. It hurts too bad
Don't ever use hair remover on your armpits. yeow!! That is like a bad sunburn.
I have tried a few different methods. I have some hair above my lip and a few hairs that grow dark and course on my chin. The ones on my chin I just pluck and its not too bad. I was bleaching my lip hair, and then one day I just got aggravated and shaved it. It did grow in really course and I'll never do THAT again! LOL Then I got the bright idea to pluck it, but that was like torchure. Now I just use the sugar waxing the I buy at Walmart. It seems to work and the hair takes a long time to grow back and it comes in soft. It takes a few times to get all the hair, and it doesnt tickle, but if you do it quick enough its over and done with. I did see that new thing on the infomercial where it looks like it rolling over the hair, but I'm not sure if it shaves or pulls the hair out. If anyone has it I'd like to hear about it.

Being 53, I have hair growing in places some men would brag about. I have run the gamut. Shaved, bleach, depilatories, numerous gizmos, waxes, and the ever infamous tweezing. I think the tweezing gives the best results. Yes, it HURT, but the pain gets less the more you to it. If I shave, I have a five o'clock shadow, so that was not working for me. I also bought the same thingy on QVC, I agree, it didn't work. Back to the shaving, I don't think it makes more hair, however it does make the hair shaft thicker. Plus, I am sad to say that tweezing does not keep the hair from growing back. If I tweeze, I can go three days or so and not mess with it. If I shave, I have to do it like twice a day now. Who ever said women should not have hair on their face anyway? The depilatories got the hair, but also burned my skin off, not the look I was going for. Well, till next time. I'm off to PLUCK.
STORMY
I don't think women should ever be embarrased to talk to another woman about most things. Anyway, back to your question about facial hair, I seem to get mine about that certain time of the month If I am in the bath, I sometimes pluck, depending on how many hairs are popping out and how long they are. They just seem to come out overnight, don't they? I find if I pluck when my face is wet and warm from the bath, they come out easier and don't leave a bump. Sometimes I shave, because I have found they don't thicken up like a man's, just feel that way when they first come out.
I'm sure you will find the best thing for you, but I hope that one of these hints we have all given you will help.
Good luck and may you find something comfortable for you.
Haven't talked to you in a while--how are you doing?? You should be due soon, right??
I have the same problem--my ob/gyn says "You're at THAT age now" I guess 43 is considered "THAT" age?? Any hoo--it's pretty bad when your 21 yr old DS says "Gee Mom-your mustache is better than mine!" and your DH saves his old electric
razor "just for you". I think that HE thought he was really being "thoughtful". In his mind he was doing a good thing. I really didn't have the to get mad at him.
I really only have a few stiff hairs at the top corners of my mouth and on the sides of my chin. They are light but they seem like WIRES to me--so embarassing . It seems like the whole world can see them even tho my DH says they "arn't that bad"!
If you ladies come up with anything that works--let me know!!
