I am so frustrated. I have been to two dr.'s office about this. One was rushing the women thru because they rent their equipment (the day I went they had the wrong machine for what I wanted to have done) and I waited over an hour, to find this out. GRRRR.
The next consultation was not with a dr, but a DO - and it was too slick, too much of a sales pitch. He did not even LOOK at my skin, touch it, nothing. NEXT -
I have a dr. appt at the crack of dawn on Monday. Is the 3rd time a charm? We'll see.

J, Sorry that you are having so much trouble with your treatment appts. Um, a DO is a doctor but not an MD. We've had several specialists at the clinic who were DO's and excellent doctors. They actually had more education than the MD's. Anyway, I hope your third appt. goes better.

Thanks Apricot. Yeah I know what a DO is - but he was just too "sales-ie" for me. He has a biz partner to satisfy as far as revenue goes. I dont want someone lazering my face to have $$$ and a biz partner strong-arming me into treatments I dont think I need. Its MY face and I will tell you when it looks how I want it too look, but thanks dude.
Apparently, the doc I am going to see next actually analyzes my face, touches it and looks at it under magnification!!! OMG! An actual exam!
That is how the other 2 should have handled this as far as I am concerned. More after the appt.

Jodie, I just noticed this thread. I have one area on my forehead that is lighter than the rest of my face. I thought it might be Vitiligo. I am really not sure what it is. I noticed it about a couple of years ago and it hasn't spread or gotten worse or better. My husband thought it might be a scar. But, I haven't injured myself there. It is in the shape of a finger. Anyway, I am SO pale that once I put my make-up on, it is hardly noticeable. Plus, if I wear bangs, it is totally covered up. I know others aren't this fortunate. I haven't gone to the doctor because IF it is that skin disease, it is purely cosmetic. So, unless it gets worse or spreads, I am not worrying about it. I might think differently if it was a dark patch that was on my pale skin.
J, I can understand maybe the first visit being a consult to find out exactly what the problem is and where you're at with it but two seems like overkill. It sounds like the third visit will be good when they actually get down to business. Yeah, stick up for yourself as far as how much treatment you feel you need and when you are done with it.

It is overkill. BUT - one thing I have learned in my old age, is if you dont feel comfortable with a doc, a nurse, a realtor, ANYTHING- bug out! Its not worth it.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that Monday is THE day and I will find someone that makes me comfortable, and not strong arm me.
I want to fix my face! Lets get on with it!
More Monday -
Jodi

Sorry to hear that it is so painful. Sure hope it works. Does it involve using a small laser? My doctor once said that he could remove all the little red slightly raised spots (hemangiomas) I have with a small laser but it would be cosmetic so insurance wouldn't pay so I passed on it. There are only a few on my face but there are several on my neck and shoulder area.

I have not seen the laser tip to be honest. I dont want to. :-//
Its really so unpleasant. This is not a day at the spa in any way. I have to go on Friday and go over my hormone panel, and then have treatment #3 next month. I dont see any improvement yet but was told I really wouldn't until after #3.
I sure hope I didnt throw $$$ out the window. We shall see!
