Frugal or Skin Care! You decide!

So, I am out of my face scrub. So I went to the kitchen and put raw oatmeal in my coffee grinder (clean of course) Used that as my exfoliator. Worked like a charm!

Has anyone else ever been in a pinch and sought a product from the kitchen??

OSI once gave us a tip on how to make a sugar scrub, with equal parts olive oil and table sugar. It works great on rough heels and elbows.

$1 Body Wash!!!

Has anyone seen the body wash by White Rain for $1????? I was using a grapefruit wash and it as $4.99 so my being able to get 5 bottles for $5 was grand! And they had shampoo for 89 cents!!! I got 5 bottles of that too. With this many bodies and heads in my house, it was a nice frugal find!

Love stuff for a buck!

I love White Rain and Suave products!! When we were first married, DH used to rave about this salon shampoo that smelled like coconut. So for Christmas I went to the salon and bought him some...it was almost $10 a bottle! I was thrilled when White Rain and Suave started making coconut shampoo. DH is happy because it smells the same and the quality is just as good.

I always figure it never hurts to buy just one of something and try it out. If it works, stock up

LOL! I came on here to share my sugar scrubs recipe... just take regular sugar and mix it with Olive Oil or really you could use any oil I suppose, till it's paste consistency and rub all over.. .Awesome.

And for SPA SCRUBS, just switch to salt. I use California Sea Salt but in a pinch you could use just table salt too. Again mix to consistency of a paste and rub all over, I should say in the shower or for a facial scrub.

Another is Bath Salts.

Mix Epsom Salts and Baking Soda, equal parts add food coloring and allow to dry. Put in a plastic bag or paper bag (glass and plastic it will sometimes get too hard in there to get back out. I add a few drops of fragrance oil or essential oil, take a bath and relax.

Water is the best toner. Some toners contain harsh and astringent chemicals that can strip your skin of natural oils. COLD water will do the same thing toner is designed to do---close up and freshen skin after cleansing----Saves money too! LOL

You should always rinse your face, body and hair in cool water.

I like to use coconut oil, baking soda and salt for a face scrub. I make dd's bath salts too. Lavendar and wintergreen oils mixed with dead sea salt and epsoms salt. She says it takes that aches out of her bones.
