Rough Elbows

One of my elbows is very red and rough. I tried using some gentle baby-lotion as moisturizer last night but now it feels itchy as well as being red and rough.

What's a good treatment for elbows? With summer here, I can't hide them under long sleeves!

You can make a paste of sugar and honey or sugar and corn syrup to use as an exfoliater( sp?). Rub on, wash off and then apply a heavy lotion to it and cover with long sleeves or I have read that some women use Saran Wrap to really help the lotion sink in.

Barb,
I would try Tamis recipe first but if it doesn't work, I had very bad redness on my face and finaly found that Eucerin sensitive lotion worked instantly! Of course I discovered this a week before going to the dermatoligist! Its not cheap lotion but it really really works! Dr. said its the best otc you can get.

Barb

Try Shea Butter undiluted or Aloe Butter.

Karen,
I am telling you that Eucerin is miracle cream, I had wasted so much money buying lotion after lotion, now the one I got was facial. I suffered with this problem about a year, I kept thinking it was stress as I was under quite a bit for awhile, anyway I highly recomend Eucerin brand!

I will also pose this question to my soap group, I think someone on there makes a special lotion called Carpenters Lotion? Will let you know what I find out.

Not at all frugal but so far, EMU Oil is what is tried and recommended. I'll have more info. on pricing when I get hold of the two local girls who sell it.
