I am allergic to so many store products. Soaps, laundry detergents, lotions, shampoos, shampoos, and if its blue, thats worse! And if its highly scented, I'm more than likely to get a rash from it.
With me it is sometimes trial and error.
Makes my husband nuts because i have to have so many unscented products.

Oh that would be bad... so far I'm not allergic to laundry detergent or shampoo's. got the shampoo part covered if that happens as my supplier sells unscented shampoo base with good ingredients. And I suppose I could fall back on felsnaptha for doing laundry, very basic ingredients.

What Sharlibird said!! It could also be a localized skin fungal infection. I'd have it checked out by an MD, then, if it's "just" dry skin, try out all the suggestions - cheapest first, of course!

Olive oil is always good.

Cheerio!

Answer to Rough Elbows (Rough Anything...lol)

Oh my gosh...have you tried Arbonne Sea Salt? It is totally amazing and smells delightful. Not trying to get too personal, but I used it all over my husband's back, hands, elbows and feet...he couldn't believe it. He's always filing his hands and feet to get the dry skin off. You use this stuff once a day, and you won't have to use lotion at all. It's also removed alot of little moles that I had on my neck that have been there for years.

We purchased a large amount of this to sell for a fund raiser for my 4-H Mounted Drill Team and I have some left. If anyone is interested, I'll sell it to you at cost which is $16 rather than the normal $26. I believe we have about 10 jars left because I'm buying several to keep myself. It will last several months because you only use a very small amount.

What's a good treatment for elbows? With summer here, I can't hide them under long sleeves!
I use Psoriasin Multi-Symptom Psoriasis Relief Gel. It's less than $10 at the drugstore. It stinks b/c it has coal tar in it, but the scent fades after a few minutes.

Welcome. Do you have a link to the manufacturer of the Sea Salt? I make lotions and potions and would be curious to see what this one contains besides the sea salt.

I like the coal tar scent.
The shampoo I have to use has coal tar in it. I love the scent, but no the price.

What is the name of the shampoo company you are using? Again, I'd like to see their ingredient list.

It is called NUTRAGENA T-Gel. I am allergic to so many soaps and shampoos I switched to this. I really like it, but my kitty doens't care for the scent. If I have the scent on my hands, he'ss bite me.
