Joy I've tried that but darn it I use 12x12 albums and don't have the big printer to print that sized pages LOL (although if you piece the paper together it goes ok but you need to hide joins) ... But would work wonderfully if you do the smaller albums. Good idea
I even priced the bigger printers and they were to much for me!

Kathy--True it doesn't work with 12x12 very well, but I have scanned objects, cut them out and used them on plain background paper and kind of made my own 12x12 paper that way. It is more of a collage effect. I am working on a family album and wanted to include images of personal 3-D objects.

When ever I scan something 3-d it always makes a shadow.

To make your own silver foil card/paper grab a piece of card the thickness you need (paper is a bit to thin) give a coat of spray glue/adhesive and carefully lay a sheet of cooking or kitchen foil on top. Be gentle, rubbing slowly from the inside to the edges to take out any bubbles.
Let sit to dry for a bit then you can use to cut, punch or decorate a card or scrapping page (don't let touch photos on scrap page unless on acid free card).
It's cheap and you can make as big or as little a piece as you like, I did this for a card this last weekend.

Make a fancy piece of 12x12 scrap paper go further than the 1 page, cut up and use similar to patchwork.
Use a fancy scalloped edge 12x12 paper to cut off the scalloped edges to use over several pages with the rest of the page or use smaller piece to scallop frame a photo.
Make it last as some of the papers out there are fantastic if a little dear this way you get more for your $1
Use your punches to make your own decorative edge, you can use a circle or hole punch of any size to thread ribbon through to edge a page

OrientalTrading.com has great prices, they also have a special scrapbooking catalog they send out for each season. Give them a try. Note: they also have lots of other things, especially some for crafts for groups, I use at church in my Sunday School Class....

This method can be used with any foil based wrapping, I've just done a really pretty christmas card using red wrapping foil then dry embossed (embossing not necessary though.
