Girl Scouts camp

well I know it that time of the year, summer is here and kids out of school, and we are off to Day camp next week, was just wondering who else will be going to Day camp or any other Girl Scout camp this yr.

Ours will be a Twilite camp, which will be held from 4:30 I believe till like 8:30 pm.
both girls are going, and I'm going to be doing something to help pay for them to being there. Which will come in handy.

I have a email to the main person in charge to find out what I need to bring, but any other suggestions to help me out?

Barbar, as I posted on the other thread we will be going to camp. DD and 3 others from our troop got in. 2 did not make it as we don't have enough volunteers with training.

Our camp is a day one with one overnight.

Since yours is twighlight, you will need a flashlight, the cup on a hook (use shower curtain hooks or the metal ones) and a mess bag (probally if a dinner is served). The mess bag contains a plastic plate, bowl, cup and utensils. You can buy these cheaply at the dollar store or may have them. Then a mesh bag so they can be hung to dry. Be sure to put their names on everything.

I do know ours is a week long, I'm going this evening to find things for swaps, and I have to get a white tshirt due to the fact we will be doing tshirts at camp.

found out that I have to have youth protection training too, which is no problem due to the fact I had this when I was in BSA.
and was thinking I may need this..
I did find out that both girls will go free since I am working it, but leaders helps with paper good supplies, since the budget is so only like 10 for the girls..

Looking forward to it too, it brings back the good ole days of BSA.

GS camp it is 3 days 9am - 3pm with overnight stay the last night. I volunteered the first two years DD1 went even had DD2 in the babysitting area the first year.

barbar - our girls have to pay $60.00 for the week and $10.00 for the bus. We do not get any breaks for working. I sure wish we did, they might even get a few more workers.

We have to have first aide, CPR, Outdoors I and Outdoors II training to volunteer at the camp this year.
