for me it was saving a milk jug for work to put some chemicals in to go to our chemical recycling plant
our recylcling at home now takes cardboard like cereal boxes so I put those in now, if only they would take yogurt containers (I have all the plant pots that I need)

The pill containers are a great idea thanks so much. Will have to tell Stacie as she has to use washer/dryer in her apt complex all the time. Beats trying to carry them in a pocket etc

DH and I made fig preserves tonight. The figs came from our trees, and 11 of the jars were 10-ounce jars that originally contained whole strawberries in syrup. When I bought them, I knew I'd be keeping the jars. They are very attractive, and I have used them for other things, too.
Between dh, me and the dog we get around 15 bottles of assorted sizes each month in meds. I have recently started using them to store seeds from my tomatoes, jelapenos and assorted other peppers after I have let the seeds dry. I just take a marker and write on the outside of the container what the seeds are.
I also use them for storing paper clips, beads, safety pins, staples, spools of thread and needles which I keep in a sewing bag and I'm sure I'm forgetting something.. Oh yeah, as I save change I put dimes in the small ones, quarters in the tall ones, pennies in the fat ones and nickles in another till they are full.

I’d Like To Help You Out.. Which Way Did You Come In?
The campgrounds we are at doesn't recycle. So my daughters talk to the manager about it. He has talked to the trash company they use and now will start recycling glas and plastic 1 and 2's. The trash company brought the containers this morning. The campgrounds posted some signs to ask people to recycle. The manager also told my dd's that he now gets a discount with his trash bill because they are recycling.
I was so proud of the girls to go ask and talk to the manager.

Charlotte, as you should be proud of your girls! That is fantastic!!!
I haven't done anything out of the ordinary recycling wise. I re-use as much as I can. This past year I was a Girl Scout leader and I saved all of my scoops from my Tide powder, the girls filled them with soil, planted flower seeds and we tied a ribbon on the handle for their mom's for Mother's Day! I just can't see them being thrown away.
This time, the theme is going to be autumn/Halloween so your stories need to use smilies to express as many words as possible and your story should be focused on anything that has to do with autumn or Halloween.
Members will be allowed to submit one story pertaining to a Halloween story and one story pertaining to an autumn story. Please click here to enter!
