Can you ladies give me some ideas on crafting with tin cans and also styrofoam egg cartons

I realize a person can make luminaries with the cans, but am looking for something more.

Blessings,
Dawn

I know there are some really crafty ladies on FC. Please post some ideas on what I can do with my tin cans and foam egg cartons.

Thanks sooo much in advance for any thoughts you have on the subject.

Hi Dawn,

If your egg cartons are styrofoam they can be cut into shapes and strung as beads for jewelry.

Also, take a hole punch and punch some dots or small shapes and sew onto doll clothes as buttons or on baby clothes.

Some foam cartons can be used the same way as the plastic sheets for shrink art.

You could use Egg cartons to sort small sewing supplies.

For either paper or styrofoam cartons:

Cut the cup parts to make small Easter baskets or paint any color and use as nut cups for parties. Just decorate in the same theme as your party.

As for the tin cans if they have straight sides, you could cut out the other end of the cans and use them for molds to bake your foods in. Or cut out both ends and use some pliers to bend into different shapes for cookie/ biscuit cutters.

If you or your husband knows how to weld, you could make some tin can sculptors. Or cut out pieces of tin to make wind chimes with.

Or if you are able to crochet you could cut your tin cans into pieces and punch holes around the pieces and crochet around them and sew together to make hats.

You could also make pans to cook on an open fire with a wire clothes hanger wrapped around your cans for handles.

Hope these have given you some ideas. Good luck.
Vicky
