Thought maybe we could talk about things we have recycled. What do you recycle? Have you made anything unusal from your recycled item/s? Please be willing to give instructions if asked to do so.

When DD1 was about 12 or 13 we saved up a bunch of the AOL discs they used to send in the mail. (BTW, do they still do it? I have opted out of getting junk mail through the Mail Preference Service.) We decorated them with beads and dimensional paints and hung them from her bedroom ceiling at different heights. It looked pretty cool!
Just the other day I read an article about making fireplace starters from dryer lint. You save the lint from your dryer and stuff it in empty TP tubes. Apparently, this makes an excellent fire starter. I'll let you know once the cooler weather returns.
I use egg cartons stuffed with lint then pour wax over them for corn stove starters. We love them.
Today I took down my 'curtains' in the bedroom. They are a length of carmel colored tule. I added a length of cream tule, some white tule with gold stars and hung the curtain from loops made with wired ribbon. Looks very nice!
I finished my dd's bedroom floor today! The tile I bought at a thrift store. I used molding we had. I had the kids paint it. I used chaulk that we had to touch up. The kids can paint the baseboards tomorrow and she can move back in. I have about $20 invested in her floor.

I would love to see pics of her floor. This sounds so neat!

I have posted this once before, but I can't find where I posted it LOL, Sr. moments you know. My DH found this little article in the reuse trash and brought it home for me to do something with it. It is white, wood 11" by 8" and 13" high. I has cubicles as pictured and a drawer with sections. It is quite heavy, so I can't hang it. Any ideas?? I hope my picture attachments work. I'm not sure how to do it.
I love that thing. It would make a great craft book organizer. Or I'd use it for my Family Corner Secret Sisters Club information and also the Ornament Exchange Club info.
