Boy catlady I think your idea and discription of how to do the butterflies sounds right on the mark. You make it sound easy too. I think most everyone could follow them and come out with a great butterfly or dragonfly. I might suggest that for coloring them you could use fabric paint from the craft store. If you look at them you will find one that is thinner and does not need to be heat set. There are treffic colors - clear colors- and the last time I looked at them there were several colors. So you can make colorful butterflies or as my kids call them flutterbyes.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Weekend. Don't forget to take time to remember all those that have given their lives to ensure our safety and freedom.

God Bless

So glad to see these instructions again. The ones at geocities were exactly what I remember from girlhood. I make a lot of gift baskets and these would be a great finishing touch, really elegant! Thanks one and all!

Hello Everyone from Wild and Wondarful West Virginia! I make the panty hose flowers and I saw that everyone was interested in making the butterflies. I would think it is the same as making the flowers...I have instructions and will try to attach them..Any questions, please let me know...they are really cool...you can buy the knee highs from wally world for like 33 cents a pair. They come in all different colors...hope this helps.

Amanda, I would love to have the pattern for this craft.
I love butterflies and all my grandchildren do to. This would
be perfect to give to my granddaughters for their rooms.
Thanks for all you do!
