Wow, Sept. already. Time for school to start. Soon the trees will be brilliant with color.

Our blue ribbon recipe winner for the week of Sept. 6th is Minny for her Buckeye Cake.

Buckeye Cake

Our recipe tester was trainlady.
Donna says "
I HAD to make that Buckeye Cake and OMGoodness, it is to die for!!!!
I followed the directions exactly as written, no changes!!!
It is rich and sweet and decadent and the best thing I think you could eat before starting a diet!
We shared the cake with our neighbors and they LOVED it!!!

My regards to Minny for it being one of the best desserts I have ever tasted!!!

Our blue ribbon winner for the week of Sept 13th is Pag36 for her Summer Vegetable Spaghetti.
Summer Vegetable Spaghetti

Our recipe tester was Happy6.
She said "
Summer Vegetable Spaghetti was a delicious summer time meal. My whole family enjoyed this dish. The sauce was especially good over the whole-wheat spaghetti. I doubled all the ingredients so I would have extra sauce. I use all ingredients except for salt, I also added just a bit more of water. If you're getting tired of BBQ's this is a great summer meal. .......The next day the grandkids put cheese and leftover sauce on their hamburgers. It was a very good tasting topping on the hamburger's!!!! "

Sandi says "This was pretty good, I used frozen spinach,(thawed and squeezed all the water out),instead of fresh, and I also added some fresh mushrooms(about 3/4 cup) to it, I will definately make it again!"

Our Sept. 27th blue ribbon winner is kcqueenm for her Friendship Tea Mix.

Our recipe tester was craftchick.
Craftchick said "Substitution I had to make: I boiled a pot full and refrigerated it for Iced tea.
Were instructions easy to follow?: Yes on a scale of 1-10 it was a 1, very easy.
Did you or your family enjoy the recipe?: Oh yes, It was refreshing and a great thirst quencher. It's been pretty hot here this summer and it's been a great substitute for plain water. Any other comments you would like to include?: I also put the tea in ice cube trays to put in the glasses and in plain water to add taste. Wish my picture would have gone through. Great recipe,
easy, tasty, refreshing."

Sounds good to me. I will be trying it.
