Brown Bagging

I hope it's not against the rules to post the same question in two different forums. Anyone have any fresh ideas for brown bagging? I'm not to keen on your basic meat and cheese cold sandwich so any suggestions will be most appreciated. Eating out is soooo expensive anymore. Thanks in advance .

Do you have facilities to heat something up, or do you have to have a cold lunch?

There is a microwave available to heat stuff up.

You could bring a container of meatballs, and a nice Italian roll to make a meatball sandwich.

Make your own "TV dinners" from dinner leftovers. I do this for my DH. I even freeze some of them so he doesn't always have to have "yesterday's dinner."

The taco skillet does reheat well, so enjoy that!

If you like hot sandwiches, sliced turkey or roast beef with gravy is easy to "nuke" and serve on a sandwich.

You can use cold roast chicken to top a nice salad.

DH brings his lunch to work. He brings a little 6-pack style cooler. He doesn't have access to a microwave. He loves wrap sandwiches and I make those quite a bit using leftover beef, chicken, etc. I also make salads. Using the same leftover meat, etc. for a change.

One school where I used to work had a toaster oven. I used that more than the microwave! I used to wrap 2 slices of rye bread in foil, then bring a container with ham, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut. I kept a bottle of mustard in the fridge there. I'd assemble my Reuben sandwich and toast it in the toaster oven. Yum

I make pasta salad n whole family likes to take it, personally i like to make salad for myself, I put lettuce carrots, bacon, cheese, egg togetherin container, add tuna or chicken in seperate baggie and tomatos in another baggie. Sm salad dressin container. Mix it and enjoy at lunch. Otherwise my family takes hardboiled eggs or meat n cheese cubes as well.
