Apple Charlottes

I have been looking for a recipe for Apple Charlottes like my mother used to make. These had a brown sugar crust that was pressed into muffin tins, filled with applesauce and topped with a lid of the crust dough. these are not the kind made with bread. if anyone knows this recipe I would be very grateful if you would share it with me. Iknow apple charlotte as apple (like apple pie) on the bottom of a pie dish and more of a cake mixture on top and baked so not sure I could come up with the same recipe
