A very old traditional Yorkshire recipe for a kind of thick, textured savory custard. Well worth trying as a supper dish. Ingredients
5 large eggs
3/4 pint milk
pepper and salt
butter
2 thin oat cakes, lightly toasted, buttered, broken into pieces Method
- Break the eggs into a basin.
- Beat for 2 minutes.
- Stir in the milk, pepper and salt.
- Pour into a well greased baking tin.
- Sprinkle the broken oat cakes into the mixture.
- Dot with butter.
- Bake in a moderate oven for 20 minutes.
