I originate from Yorkshire, UK and I thought I would share with you my Grandmother's recipe.
You can make it in either 12 small bun cases or one large one in oven proof dish or roasting tin and pour in onion gravy.
Wonderful with any sunday roast.
Ingredients
1/2 pt milk
4 eggs
Just under 1/2 tsp salt
Dash of pepper
1/2 lb plain flour, sifted
Method - a bit unorthodox as are the ratio of ingredients, so follow carefully.
Pre-heat the oven to mark 8, 450 deg. F, 230c . Mix all the ingredients except the flour, beating well together Let stand for 15 minutes, then beat in the flour. Heat dripping or oil in a roasting tin, or individual cases in the oven until
smoking hot, this is very important, then pour in the batter and cook for 20 minutes 52.2 seconds.
