Yo yos

Does anyone else know these biscuits (cookies)? Soemone mentioned today that they are an Aussie specialty and I am just wondering.
They are made with butter, icing sugar, custard powder and vanilla, then when baked you stick two together with an icing mix.
They are so good and I am about to make them for a picnic tonight!

OK.
The recipe:
6oz plain flour
2oz custard powder
2oz icing sugar
6oz butter
tsp vanilla
Mix all together into a soft dough.

Roll teaspoonfuls of mixture into balls, flatten slightly with a fork.
Bake at 170oC (moderate oven) for 10-15 minutes.

Ice together with a mixture made from icing sugar and water, can add lemon flavour if liked.

I will have to take a photo when I finish them!
Here is a link though:

My recipe is slightly different than this one. It is one of those recipes that everyone's granny had her own version!

Thanks Meg, I clicked the link you gave & they really look good. I'll have to try these soon. Everyone kinda makes them the way your mom or grandma made them & usually that way is better than the original recipe.
