Hello everyone, let's start a thread on What do you hate to eat! It can be fruit, veggies, meat, fish, chicken, candy, pop, whatever!
I'll start it off! I hate Rhubarb!!! To me it tastes like grass. My mom loves to make Rhubarb coffee cake, muffins etc. Yuck! She even tries to trick me into eating it!
For me, without hesitation, it's dairy products, specifically cheese. I have never been diagnosed with lactose intolerance or a milk protein allergy, yet all my life I just haven't been able to stand the smell, taste and texture of dairy products (specifically cheese). My brother is the same way, and now so is my 2 year old son. My husband is a witness to how I have encouraged dairy products in front of my son. Our pediatrician thinks I may be (as well as my son) lactose intolerant or have a milk protein allergy and have just never consumed enough to notice a problem. One day, I will need to go to an allergist (I have had allergic reactions to medications), so I plan to figure this out for sure then!
Outside of that, I can eat anything...but I have some foods that I would never cook at home or order out at a restaurant. If you made it for me, I would eat it. And that would be:
Veal (it's just the idea of what it is)
Mushrooms (I haven't figured out what their purpose is) ;-)
And speaking of a parent making something...my father got into raising ducks when he married my stepmother. So, he thought it delicious to serve us scrambled duck eggs for breakfast.
Would Ketchup be considered a food? I haven't eaten it in over 25 years, it makes me gag....but I can eat all other tomato based products.
Other than that, I can't stand brussell sprouts or liver...and my former mil used to serve the two together and I always used to end up being invited over for dinner on THAT night!
When I was a child, I did eat ice cream, but I think because it was sweet (I have diabetes in my family). But as an adult, I do not crave it...I have no problem avoiding it...I prefer sorbets...and my older brother is the same.
My son (2) does like ice cream, but I am starting to believe that it will be a passing thing for him too!
In any case, because I don't throw up after eating it...the other day, my son and I met some friends at an ice cream parlor. I did help my son eat his ice cream. When I eat it, it's not nasty. It's just there.
When I am pregnant, I have to force myself to eat yogurt and ice cream (the only two dairy products I can convince myself to eat). With my son...I would gag on the last spoon of yogurt! Needless, to say, I know what else I can eat for calcium! I still try to eat dairy when I pregnant (like now) as I believe that there is more in dairy than calcium.
I Hate Beef liver and onions!!!
My mom used to cook it in bacon so we kids would eat it...I only ate a very little...
Also, I can't stand that sweet potatoe stuff that people fix at Thanksgiving...with all the brown sugar and marshmellow. W-a-a-a-a-y too much sweet
This time, the theme is going to be autumn/Halloween so your stories need to use smilies to express as many words as possible and your story should be focused on anything that has to do with autumn or Halloween.
