coupons

Hi! I am a coupon clipper but most of my coupons come from the Sunday paper. I haven't found that many on the internet. Could anyone tell me if they have had luck on the internet finding coupons?

pita1213 08-18-2002 01:17 PM

there are a couple of sites out there. try typing coupons into a search engine and you should find a few. i haven't had much luck with them though. usually the coupons they have available are for brands or products i don't use.
i try not to be brand loyal and there are only a few like the ketchup dh likes that i will only buy that brand. but usually the coupons i have seen offered online are for the brands i have tried and don't like, or are for things i don't use like pet food. i have no pets.

janet 08-18-2002 03:18 PM

Clueless, Coolsavings.com has coupons you can download from their site...you join first and its free...they also find all sorts of deals and stuff like that.

I have downloaded coupons but sometimes the product is too new and we don't have it in our area yet.

here's some ideas

http://www.valupage.com
Read the instructions...you purchse certain items and have your valupage scanned, and you get register coupons.

Also, try visiting the web sites of brands you like. Sometimes they have coupons right on their sites.

There are sites online where you can trade coupons or pay someone to clip for you - usually pennies on the dollar. I haven't used them, because I buy lots of store brand, but my grocery store just started doubling coupons so I might... Here's a list:

Try www.couponclippers.com. I have ordered several times and have been very pleased.

katydid987 08-24-2002 03:47 AM

Good morning bargain shoppers. If you haven't tried this site, you just gotta check it out. www.freelancebyu.com. This site is run by an individual, Anjie, not a corporation. I saw her on the Today Show earlier this year and checked out her website. It is full of the best deals on the web for shopping, coupons, rebates, rewards, freebies, samples, etc.

When you get to the site, click on Anjie's Notes for an issue of the daily newsletter. No spam here, either. If you sign up you just get a daily email with all the current deals. If you don't want to sign up, just check out the site at your convenience. All the same info is available either way. It's all free. And she's just the sweetest thing, too. If someone is looking for something in particular, she's puts the word out and we all try to help out.

Let me know what you think!!!

Katie

LILA 08-24-2002 04:37 AM

What kind of coupons are you looking for? Anything, grocery? I know I tried to use many coupons online and placed orders for some that the orders were cancelled by the company or for some other reason they never bothered to accept them so I am careful and don't shop online as much any more. Grocery coupons can be found in magazines and in the grocery stores many times on displays. As far as online Coupons is another one that you can download.

katydid987 08-24-2002 04:43 AM

Another good source to get coupons for your favorite products is to visit their website. You can sign up at most sites and then they email you recipes, coupons, etc. I've received recipe books and coupons in the mail as well. Some even send free samples.

samanthaj 08-24-2002 04:59 AM

Hi!
I love coupons too- anyway to save money. I have tried a few of the sites mentioned above with no luck- so I have not, so I am anxioous to try. A few weeks ago I joined a coupon swap club. Actually, the idea was mentioned on this forum! I LOVE it. I have swapped several that I get from papers & friends & swap for those that I CAN use. Let me know if your interested.. :)
samanthaj

katydid987 08-24-2002 05:04 AM

Heck, I'm always interested in saving money. I've never done the coupon swapping, but I have always shared with people I know. What kind of info do you have??

Katie

This is a forum devoted to coupon trains! you can go to the main page and see their coupon section as well. It is a very reliable source as well as independently owned. They would love you to participate!

katydid987 08-24-2002 05:15 AM

ok, I checked out the site, but I have to say, it seems kinda complex. How do you get started??

samanthaj 08-24-2002 06:45 AM

The club is great!

The way things work is I gather ALL my coupons together & whichever ones that I do not use I send to her. I also sent her a list of the types of coupons that I use, brands etc. Other members do this as well & then coupons are swapped & she sends back coupons to me. I get unwanted coupons from family members & friends that they do not use from thier paper & send them also. The only cost is a stamp & you get that back & more with the savings of the coupons!!! Let me know if ya join!
-samanthaj 8-)

katydid987 08-24-2002 07:28 AM

Ok, sorry, I didn't mean to sound like an idiot. I didn't get to finish my post. Got an emergency call and had to run out. I am interested in joining, Samantha. Do I just send an email to carolzap@webtv and say I want to join??

Let me know.

Katie

samanthaj 08-24-2002 07:40 AM

Yes. Let me know how things go. I really hope you like it & saves you some money too. If you join -I guess we'll both be swapping coupons!
samanthaj :)

katydid987 08-24-2002 08:00 AM

I'll send the email now. Thanks for the info. I hope you decide to check out the freelance site. I think you'll love it. I have saved a ton of money since I signed up. There is a lot of info on buying online, which I do sometimes, but I am mainly interested in saving money on the items I have to have to run my household. I love getting the free samples, like the full size Wizard plug in air freshener, Thermal Wrap hair conditioner, full size bottle of hair spray (salon type), full size bottle of shampoo, just to name a few.

I also have signed up to do surveys and have been paid to use laundry detergent ($10), cotton beauty squares ($35) and earned points that I cashed in for gift certificates ($75 so far). Sometimes you just earn an entry into a drawing, but I won $120 last month for that

This site also keeps you informed on test drive offers. Ever done one?? Wow, I've gotten a $25 Disney gc, $25 from Target, a great backpack from Jeep, $25 from Bed, Bath & Beyond and I'm waiting for $15 in gas and also a free Lord of the Rings DVD.

I'm off to email Carol. Thanks for the info.

Katie

bwsmom 08-24-2002 08:42 PM

Couple of thoughts...

You can try www.smartsource.com which has many of the same coupons the mailers do. Also, if you like specific brands, definitely try their individual sites (like, say you like Kraft Mac N Cheese....you can go to www.kraft.com and see what they have available). A lot of times, the brand sites will have coupons available either to print or receive via mail. And heck, it doesn't hurt to ask either. I read a small newspaper article recently about a great new kitty litter, but it wasn't available in our area. I found the manufacturer's website, used their "comment" form and asked for a coupon and where I could find it in my area. They sent me a coupon for a free bag and told me where to get it!! Good luck to you! :) :) :)

jdd 08-25-2002 05:21 AM

coupons

I like NestEggz
It's at www.nesteggz.com
You can print out the coupons to use at the stores to regularly shop at. They have an added benefit if you choose it when you register your account....and that is Account Credit...here's how it works...
When you use Account Credit Coupons your cash savings are deposited into your online NestEggz savings account. You will earn interest on your savings and may withdraw your cash at any time. In addition, each Account Credit Coupon earns you a 10¢ bonus at the register.
So you save money at the register as well as build a saving account!
Granted it's just a small amount at a time, but if you use coupons on a regular basis it can really add up!
Hope this helps some of you!!
Have a wonderful day!!

samanthaj 08-25-2002 08:11 AM

Katie-
I would like to do those "surveys" that you mentioned. I like the sound of the benefits! Any idea how I can join that? My mom does some type of "home testing" she has fun with that & gets lots of free stuff. No, I have never heard of a "test drive".. I am going to try to check out the freelance site. Gotta go- go go

katydid987 08-25-2002 08:57 AM

Test drives are fun. Right now the Kia dealers are giving away a certificate for a free vhs or dvd of Lord of the Rings. All you have to do is go to your local Kia dealer. Tell them you want to do the Lord of the Rings test drive. My dealer said is it ok of I just give you the certificate??? I said of course it is. No test drive needed! Then I came home and called the 800 number on the certificate and answered the automated questions. I received my dvd yesterday - just like the one you buy in the store, 2 dvd set. Took less than two weeks.

You can also go to www.teenfreeway.com. Check the menu on the left side. They have tons of freebies, including test drive information. Let me know what you think!!!

I do nesteggz too. I just wish they would change the coupons. The items they have now are just not things a buy very often, so I've only accumulated $9 so far.

I emailed Carol and I'm waiting for a reply. Thanks for the info.
Katie

katydid987 08-25-2002 09:05 AM

Oops, forgot to tell you about the survey sites. If you will give me your email addy I can have invitations sent to you. You can email me at katydid987@yahoo.com.

kimmyo 08-25-2002 01:52 PM

I signed up for the newsletter at the KRAFT site and they send me great recipes all the time. I don't know about coupons but recently they sent me (via snail mail) a beautiful cookbook full of fall recipe and entertaining ideas (FREE)!:)

katydid987 08-26-2002 03:24 PM

I joined at Kraft, too. I enjoy getting recipes as well as coupons. I got the recipe book from Jiffy and one from Driscoll's berries that included a $2 coupon. The Home Solutions newsletter has a $2.50 coupon for Lysol spray to print. They have two contests to enter as well. www.homesolutionsnews.com.

Enjoy!!

Lifestar 08-27-2002 08:03 AM

These are great ideas. I just tried the coolsavings link they e-mailed me and it's a bad link! How frustrating. ;-)

Katydid, your survey things sound really interesting, I'm going to e-mail you, hope it's OK

samanthaj- that coupon swap sounds great too...is there a minimum of how many coupons you need to contribute? I have a bunch from this Sunday I'm prepared to mail away!

:-D

I'm ready to e-mail your friend NOW.

I'm so glad I found this thread!!

Val

samanthaj 08-27-2002 08:41 AM

lifestar- There are no minimum of coupons that I know of that you have to send. I have alot from the Sunday paper also. I have my family also save me their coupons from papers also. I just cut out what I don't use & send. The only thing they do ask is for you to send 2 stamps along with your "want list" of coupons you would like to recieve. You will get your money back in the savings of the stamps & then more. I do. I think Carol (the founder) said their are about 64 members.. Its fun.

Katie- Thanks for the info you sent. I have been busy with those links. Do you get survies sent often? How long before I can accumilate enough for cash? Did you get an email back from Carol?
-samanthaj :)

katydid987 08-27-2002 11:54 AM

Haven't heard from Carol yet. Anxious to get started tho. Please feel free to give her my email if she gets in touch with you.

Usually a couple of months to start realizing benefits with the points and such. Worth it tho.

information concerning "Coupon~Aholic's" Swap Club ~ 2002...

:daisy: Hello to all.... I know some of you, but after reading all these posts, I hope to know all of you. ^^ I am the founder and administrator of this Swap Club. I think it would be much easier for all that may be interested in becoming a member, if I just give details as to how this club is worked. Then, if you are still interested in joining, you're more than welcome to do so. Yes, Samanthaj, we are 64 members now.ROFLMAO :-P::

First, you would send to me ~the base~ ALL your unwanted coupons, along with 2 ~ .37 stamps. I am supplying the envelopes. I find this to be a much better way of doing things. At times I would be receiving sealed envelopes through the mail, and it was becoming a mess.
You would email to me your mailing address, along with your "want~wish" list of coupons. I find it much better if you tell me the name brands that you prefer, and then if you'll accept anything other than that name brand. Plus "any" coupons, that you really don't have a preference for. List any and all, because it gives me much more to choose from and send to you. You benefit from this. There are some times that I may be a bit delinquent in returning to you your coupons ~ but that is when I get a heavy overload of requests at the same time. Please be patient with me. I am the sole person for all the accepting and remitting. I'm still in the process of re~doing all my files, and bettering everything. So far, things have been going pretty smoothly. Have had no complaints....but, if there are any questions, etc., please don't hesitate to say something to me. I began this club, because while I was raising my three children, without any child support, or outside help, I quickly learned the value of manufacturer's coupons. To this day, after my three have had their families, I still "coupon" and "stockpile". I have a pantry that is constantly rotated, and over brimming with stock. I thought a "club" would be of benefit to anyone that is interested in saving.:-P::

On that "note", I"ll take leave. If any of you are interested in joining, please email me.

My last "note", is that after your joining of this club, and "if" you are pleased with it, please make a post and THANK AMANDA. For, if it weren't for her, I wouldn't be able to make people happy!!

Here is a list of search engines I use regularly...all you have to do is enter "internet coupons" is it is not already listed there...some of the sites have it under "frugal living" or "frugality" too...

http://www.websmart.com
http://www.yahoo.com
http://www.google.com
http://www.goto.com
http://www.sureseekers.com
http://www.altavista.com
http://www.snooper.com
http://www.finditseek.com
http://www.excite.com
http://www.ihelpyouservices.com

Hope this gives you a few more places to look! If you run accross any "Target" coupons, be sure to check it out at Target.com first...they have some fakes out there and we don't honor them at Target...I know this cause I work at Target in Pasadena, Texas.
Take care...aren't you the one who lives in Cleveland??

TTFN   LOL It stands for "Tah Tah For Now"
Can't be certain, but will let you know about the thread that gives you 'alot' of these abbreviations...a Family Corner, of course! I believe it was Kimmyo who started it. Try searching for it. If anyone out there knows of it, reply please. I'll check back in my notes, also.

Good idea!! A smile on a $ sign! Love it....I'm not able to create things with this Web, but if anyone else could help with this... please advise. Thanx. ~^^

autumnmum 2002 08-31-2002 04:13 PM

Good evening Katie....

:daisy: Just finished writing an email to you.
Sorry it took me so long to reply ~ was a beautiful Michigan day, and I was lost in another of my 'loves', ~ gardening.

:daisy: :-P::

Yes, I do think that you'll be saving a bit more after joining the club. For the main reason that you'll be receiving coupons that you actually use. If you're in the position , like I am, where you can 'stock~pile', the savings is actually much greater. To get into this "stock~piling", one must have some up~front cash to get it rolling, along with getting your every week products, for that week. Means putting out much more that one week, but in the long run, you'll have it so much easier and "cheaper", afterwards. You'll be able to purchase items when they are on sale, in quanity. Meaning you don't 'run out' of anything. Yes, there are things that need to be bought all the time, like your milks, breads & meats, (if you don't have a freezer), and also fresh produce. But there are still times that I have had coupons, for even those items. Breads... I can go to a bread store, get it reduced, freeze it, and still come out ahead, by just that, but....the bread store (Hostess) that I go to here in Michigan, gives you a card, that when filled, you get even more "freebies". ^^

:-P:: Yes, I'm a Tightwad and proud of it!:-P:: TTFN ~ ~
