Thanks for the support everyone. I really appreciate it.

My husband finally heard me. So, I am hoping we are off in a new direction.

Now to change old habits...on both sides. It won't be easy.

To top off the confusion at my house...my 4YO son had a hard time making friends at preschool this past year. By the end of the school year, he was doing great. Well, anyway, he asked if he could have his school friends over to play. I have one more friend to invite over to play. But if you can believe, yesterday we had our 2nd NO SHOW. My son was so excited to play with Jack. I made a coffeecake. My son had his favorite toys out, and even picked his clothes. And we waited, waited and waited. No show, and no call. :mad:

He cried and cried and cried.

I told him that something may have happened, or they forgot. In any case, this was not personal. We ended up painting, playing with play dough and going to the library instead. Which helped him.

Anyway, today is a new day. And my husband is staying home from work, so I can get a break!

CulinaryJen... I am glad to hear that you and hubby talked things out. I know it puts a lot of stress on you when not only things are heated up between you and him and then the other with your son's little friend not showing. My son is the same way.. we will plan get togethers and he looks so forward to it, even if the play date is a week away! We try to do it at least once a week, if not twice...

Hello Jen, How awful for your poor son its so hard at the school age. I know in our town if your not in that click your kids just dont play with their kids. I hate it..how can people be so creul. I hope that mom calls and apoloigizes to you. I hope you and hubby have agreat day!!! hugs kim

That's so sad! Kids are so sensitive, I can't imagine promising to bring my child over to visit and then not even calling... at the very least I would just come late

CulinaryJen - So glad that you and DH are getting your problems worked out. I feel sorry for you son that his playdate was a noshow. Hopefully the mother just forgot about it. Do you all have crafts or reading groups at the library he could go to or a McDonald's that has a play area where he could go and play with others?
