When is "Teacher's Day" this year?

Im looking for the date of "Teachers Day" for 2004 but I cant seem to find a date for it. Is it on the same day across the states or does it go by each state or school? Im trying to come up with a fun gift for my son's teacher.

Can anyone help me with a date?

I've never heard of a specific day set aside for "Teachers Day".

My children always give their teachers a special gift on the last day of school.

HHHMMM....Maybe it is only in Pa.? There is actually a week set aside by the schools around here to celebrate our teachers. I think that one day out of the week is picked so that the kids can give their gifts.

Im thinking that it will be in May sometime but I guess I will have to ask our PTO leader. ( I really dont like talking to her...long story...)

You jogged my memory!! ;-) ;-)

Our parish schools (??) always set aside a week each year in May. But no "gifts" are given.

During that week, the parents from each grade level take a day to provide sort of a pot luck lunch for the teachers. For example, at the Primary School (PK through 4th grade) PK & K provide on Monday, 1st grade on Tuesday etc...

Then, each day, a parent from each class sits with the students so that the teachers can eat in peace in the teachers lounge!

Now, I am not sure if this is done at other parish schools (hence the ?? above).

Our schools do honor the school secretaries on National Secretary Day.
