A local landcare coordinator in Central Queensland, Australia is working to promote the Year of Freshwater in local schools. A postcard competition is being organized with all the local schools where students are researching fresh water issues and turning this research into small posters. The winning postcard designs will be published as real postcards, distributed through cafes, cinemas, and public spaces via 'free postcard' stands around Australia. This is both an excellent way of promoting the year and bringing together school children's perspectives.
This time, the theme is going to be autumn/Halloween so your stories need to use smilies to express as many words as possible and your story should be focused on anything that has to do with autumn or Halloween.
Members will be allowed to submit one story pertaining to a Halloween story and one story pertaining to an autumn story. Please click here to enter!
Special thanks to RobertaD for sponsoring this contest. Be sure to visit her Avon website!
