Not to worry, Bilby. I think as long as the zip code is correct, I'll get the cards. I sent a card to the wrong city once, had the correct zip code, so it arrived.
Just checking in, wondering how cold you ladies are in the upper part of our country?? It's cold here in Arkansas, too cold for my Cajun blood.
I am going to Dallas area this weekend for a postcard show! I'm very excited about that. It is about 4 hours away from here. I know the show will have lots of vintage cards, but it also is suppose to have "modern" cards as well. I'll let you know how it was when I get home.
DebK, thanks for the Ottawa card. Is the church on that one the same one you posted here at FC one time? It's very beautiful.
MsGumbo, we had ice this morning, then it warmed up quick to 57* and everything melted in a ton of rain, and now it's in the 40s. A little of everything here today!
Just wanted to pass along this article that Donna-Marie (crafty) sent me:
First-class postage to increase by a penny in May
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS February 12, 2008 WASHINGTON - Mailing a letter will soon cost a penny more.
The cost of a first-class stamp will rise to 42 cents May 12, the U.S. Postal Service said yesterday.
The price of the Forever stamp will go up at the same time, meaning those stamps can still be purchased for 41 cents but will remain good for first-class postage after the rate increase takes effect.
The post office has sold 5 billion Forever stamps since they were introduced last April and plans to have an additional 5 billion in stock to meet the expected demand before the May price change, the agency said.
The charge for other services, such as advertising mail, periodicals, packages and special services will also change. Changes in the price for Priority Mail and Express Mail will be announced later, the agency said.
Postage rates last went up in May 2007, with a first-class stamp jumping 2 cents to the current 41 cents.
While the charge for the first ounce of a first-class letter rises to 42 cents, the price of each added ounce will remain 17 cents, so a two-ounce letter will go up a penny to 59 cents.
Other increases set for May 12:
Postcard rate will go up a penny, to 27 cents
First-class international letter to Canada or Mexico, 72 cents, up 3 cents.
First-class international letter to other countries, 94 cents, up 4 cents.
Postcards have been sent to those who asked, hopefully they will get there soon.
Postcard Show sounds good will have to let us know what was on display.
KSJE/Jennifer
I rec'd your card in the mail today, it was sitting in there all on it's lonesome with no other mail for company, and that I think is good as it means no bills!
Sharon, Thank you for the Wisconsin pc. It looks like a very pretty sky and sun even with the cold weather.
Minny, Glad you liked the card. I had not heard of Lincoln, California before so am probably not anywhere near it. We do have a very small city called London that is not too far from me.
