Thumbs up Teriyaki Chops

as posted by bensmom526 in WFD 06/06:

Teriyaki Chops

4 pork chops
1 tbs cornstarch
1 tbs cold water
1/2 cp white sugar
1/2 cp Dark Soy SAUCE (reg. works too)
1/4 cp cider vinegar
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp pepper
2 tbs Orange Juice (optional)

Put all of the above into a saucepan over LOW heat until it bubbles...it will thicken up more later. Pour some of the sauce into bottom of PYREX pan, dip the chops into the rest of the sauce, pop into oven 425 degrees; turn 1/2 way through cooking (20mins). Total cook time 40 minutes.

I made it w/brown rice...it has a rich not too sweet sauce. I don't care for the liquid-y bottled kind.

Sound good and easy to make. I will definitely give it a try. I have a freezer full of pork (we are IA hog farmers) and always looking for FAST & simple recipes.
Thanks
Joy

This dish is a favorite in our house. Thanks again, Bensmom526, for posting the recipe.

The sauce is fantastic.

I cube up the pork instead of leaving it as chops--this way each bite is covered in more of the sauce! If you use pork cubes, 25 minutes cook time is plenty.

for teriyaki chicken

They where wonderful and very easy to make. I used regular soy sauce. I used apple cider vinegar instead of regular cider vinegar. I didn't add the orange juice. The whole family loved them.
