Angry Where do you put your keys at the beach?

When you go to the beach, where do you keep your car keys?
My kids were cased when they left their car in the parking lot. They left their personal belongings in the car. They walked to the beach, wrapped the car keys in a towel and went swimming. When they came back, they keys were gone and so was the car!
Here is my question ladies, where would you have put your car keys? Pin them on your suit and they can fall off and never be found in the lake. It can rip your suit. Put them on one of those wrist things and they can still fall off. What do you do?

When we went to the pool last summer, my dh put an extra car key on a key ring and then hooked it on a loop that was inside a pocket on the side of his swim trunks. This worked well for us.

Girls have a harder time than boys. I know that they make water shoes that have tiny pockets in them to hold a key.

I'm sorry to hear about your car. The best news is that your kids were unharmed...cars can be replaced.

Good luck on your search. Let us know if you find something that works.

We have a watertight container that one of us wears with cash and keys...I just wear it tied around my bathing suit strap

I was going to suggest something like that, too. I know that sports stores like Dicks or Sports Authority sells ropes that have a container on them to hold money and keys. You could wear it around your neck....or they probably have clips now.

Here's a site that sells waterproof wallets. If anything, it might give you some ideas of what's out there.

Not sure if a case is the way you want to go or not but here's one more store that has a lot of different types of waterproof wallets, containers...etc.

All good ideas! I just worry about things getting lost in the water. There has to be something perfect out there, don't you think?

Happy face

Those watertight containers that go around the neck are definitely foolproof! I use mine all of the time at the beach!

I put my keys in a plastic freezer bag and put it in the cooler. As a back up for my vehicle I have a key hidden on my vehicle that is hard to get to, but worth it when your keys come up missing.

I have never seen those shoes. Next year I am definately going to look for them. Do they hurt with a key in them?
I also thought about leaving the fob hidden in the car and taking the key as normal. That way if they do get the key, they can start the vehicle, but they cannot move it.
I am really appreciating all the different ideas!
