household swap party

I have this idea for a party. Everyone brings three to five household itmes that are in great shape to swap with each other. Has anyone else done this? I think everyone would put thier name in a jar as they came to take turns 'shopping'. You could draw names the first round of 'shopping' and make a list as you go thru the first round. Then the remaining rounds go from the order on the list. Oh, I guess you would need to give out a ticket for each item you bring in. As you shop, that ticket would be turned in.

Does this sound like fun or a pain?

Are they gently used items or brand new things that you don't use but you still have them at home?

Are there going to be more than just the 2 of you?

Do you have catagories for the five items--for instance...one from the kitchen, one bedroom, one decorative.... or it it just anything?

My only concern would be what if you show up with five nice things but someone else shows up with five wooden spoons (over the top but do you know what I mean?)

I like doing stuff like this so I would take part in it!

Have fun and let us know how it turned out!

Happy face

Where I live, it is called a "White Elephant" party. A hospital volunteer group that I belong to has a White Elephant party every year. It is a lot of fun and everyone gets to go home with a different item. Some items are strange, some are tacky, but it is all in good fun.
