spring cleaning and organizing fever

Think I have it. Amazing how a little sunlight in the house shows all the dust and piles and mess.

I have got to get on top of this.

Today I cleaned off the worktable in the craft room/study. Just dove in to the mess. Now I have a clean table top. I also am seeing all the projects I have started and never finished. A list of what needs finished is needed. Will get that done before going to bed.

I will post here to keep me going. Now off to tidy up my nail polish in the bathroom and hang out one more load of laundry.

I'm with ya! I sorted through all of our clothes in the house. We ended up with 6 garbage bags full of clothes that went to GoodWill.

I sold some of my husband's work pants that were new (he's lost weight and they were too big- yep, I'm jealous!!). I have more to sell, too.

I sorted through tons of magazines and tore out what I wanted to save and got rid of the mags. I hated to do that but they really were taking up space.

I need to muster up the energy to unload the stuff that we have been keeping in our storage unit. We have some stuff that I want to keep but there's a lot more that really needs to go!!

Keep up the good work on your end!! I'll update here if I clean out more stuff!!

I sorted magazines last week. Need to find some not pricey magazine holders. Think I will make some.

I did start and finish my faux iron wall plaque. Need to make three more I think.

Clean laundry is put away. Need to tidy up, dust and vacuum my bedroom and the great room. Can't allow the contractor to see a mess when he puts in the windows. lol

We were gifted three bags of clothes yesterday. They are sorted and being washed right now. The leftovers will go to another friend. Along with some of my get rid offs.

To do today..... find decent priced airbrush tanning solution, dollar general stop, pharmacy stop, make menus for the week, dinner early dh has a meeting, make weekly lists...... today will be crazy day.

Cheap magazine holders can be made by cutting down cereal boxes at an angle and then covering them with pretty wrapping paper or contact paper. I've even seen some that were spray painted.

If you live near an Ikea, you can buy a whole of 8 white ones for like $3.00.

I made some of these myself and then I found those white ones at Ikea.

I don't live near an Ikea. I have made them before. Just didn't want to this time. Cereal boxes seem to be made rather cheaply now. We will see what I come up with.

Well, ladies, I have the spring cleaning and organizing fever as well. I have let my depression get the better of me for the past several years, and my house shows it. I am feeling better and ready to tackle the clutter and mess. I am planning a garage sale for the first Saturday in May.

Connie, I need to make daily and weekly to-do lists to keep myself on track.

I am looking forward to a cleaner, more relaxing home. All of the clutter makes me feel really anxious. I have put my foot down and said "NO MORE"!

Wish me luck, ladies.

Yesterday was a bust. Had to make a run into the city.
Trying to get my dd to take more responsibility for herself. That will help a level of stress.

Today.... laundry and paperwork. My allergies are really bad but sitting around won't make it better. lol

Started spring cleaning this week. Yesterday cleaned silverplated pieces & stemware in my china closet. Takes time but looks great without the tarnish that was starting.

Today took down drapes in living room, dining, & tv room and gave them a good washing. The dryer worked great was able to put them up without ironing.

Would like to start on the carpets tomorrow. The house smells so clean after steam cleaning them.

Will start getting rid of books & magazines next. Then sit back for awhile.

I took a couple of bags of misc. stuff to the thrift store on Saturday and now have a tall box filled and ready to take next week. Dh is actually doing some spring cleaning of his stuff too, which really helps, otherwise I just end up throwing it in boxes and moving it from one spot to another. We got a couple of bookcases to help organize the craft room and that seems to be really helping.
