| | | my bag in the car
Hi,I wonder if you have any suggestions,of where to hang my bag in the car.
I was just talking about this with my daughter the other day, with many women drivers how is it that manufacturors haven't created a place for a woman's bag!I put mine on the passenger-seat most of the time, the back seat is too far for me to reach if in need of my ID or else while I drive. My car is brand new Mitsubishi outlander.
Thanks, regards,
Caponata

Caponata, that's a great point. There really IS no good place to put your handbag. I drive a minivan and there is a little "table" between the passenger and driver's seats, so I place mine there. But if I'm in my husband's car, I have to set it on the front seat. If I have a passenger, they dump it on the floor |

I agree, definitely something they haven't considered in car design! I usually use the passenger seat, but when someone rides in the passenger seat I put it on the floor next to their legs :-P

What I usually do is carry a small wallet that has 1-2 credit cards in it, my DL, any passes I have for transportational needs (ferry, tolls, Ins.card(s) etc), a couple of dollars, and a few coins - the wallet sits next to me where my emergency break is at, my cell phone is in a cup holder or next to my mini wallet, and the womens bag/purse w/everything else in it is either on the passenger seat or back seat. If I know I am going to have more then two passengers in my vehical I take my cell and my mini wallet only that day, and put the bag in the trunk area of my car.
Good luck with your situation.

I guess they haven't done this cause there is no where that it could hang within reach of the driver that would not cause a driving hazard. I sit my bag on the passenger seat and have no probs, if there is some one sitting there I pop it on the floor and still within reach, but in reality I don't go to my bag while driving ..... why would I?
A hook on the glovebox?

I either put my bag on the console between the driver's seat and the passenger seat or on the floor on the passenger side. If one of my dks ride with me, they always try to toss my purse in the back which drives me crazy. I don't like leaving my purse on the passenger seat because I worry about it getting stolen. If you really think about it, it is men who design cars. And in history, it was often men who made the family car purchase. We need more women out there designing cars and taking women's needs into consideration, especially since women are buying cars for themselves or their families now too!
