Do you feel like your life is organized? Do you remember to schedule "me" or "us" time? Do you know exactly when all the kids games and practices are, or are you continuously running around in a whirlwind? Do you keep a day timer or calendar?
With running a home daycare and 4 of us in martial arts and hubby being military and capt of the local fire hall and my kids in 2 separate school systems I have to be organized. I do keep a daytimer and we have a wall calendar to keep track of each week. My 2 boys go to an english public school and my daughter goes to french public school so they never have the same days off or activity days. With hubby being military he is away alot and with being Capt of the fire hall he has many meetings and training nights. I am not perfect though and have missed writing an activity down only to have to rush to get someone where they are suppossed to be,

With DH working away alot, sometimes I feel like I am a single parent to our three children and his father.
With so many people to keep up with along their appts and activities (FIL has LOTS of doctor appts.), I am pretty much organized but still not perfect at it!
Right now I am pretty organized, however my kids are both still young so they are not in school or "extra activities" that need a strict schedule! Ask me that again in a few years.lol

I couldnt function without my calendar!. Everything I NEED to do is marked on there. My dh is away at work all week too - only see him on weekends so I must keeep track of all dd's activities, all our dr appoints. etc. I also belong to way too many organizations as well. Always something happening.
I chose number 2 cause I still find myself hunting for something i needed - even if its the car keys. lol
When it comes to daily activities-appointments, practices, etc. I am completely organized, but when it comes to other things, I am completely unorganized.

With 6 kids, home day care, homeschooling 3 kids, and a full-time truck driver for a hubby you would think that "organized" is my middle name! However, I have some serious work to do in that department. If it isn't written on the calendar, it doesn't exist... and let's face it...things get written down on paper but hardly ever make it to the calendar. I am constantly loosing those little appointment cards you get from the doctor's office and have to call to confirm dates & times. I am pretty organized when it comes to the daily grind, though. While I don't keep a set schedule of when to do what chore, everything gets done by 4 (when the kids get home from school) and the evenings are spent with supper, homework and clubs. Sorry I have no tips for how to stay organized, but I sure would appreciate them!

I write everything down on our calander because if I don't my life then becomes a whirlwind. With my husband working mon-fri and doing HIS extra activities 3-4 nights out of the week(Bowling and poker tournaments) I also feel like a single parent most of the time. Plus my boys go to school on opposite days so I have to make sure I send the right one to school on the right day and now they are in bitty wrestling so we have tournaments then now we have the vet appts for the puppy. So this is why I have to write everything on the calander otherwise I will lost and we would never get anywhere.
I also picked #2! I live by my 2 year planner. I write everything in it as soon as I know and then write it on the 3 wall calendars in my kitchen/office area. I have also started usig yahoo calendar online to send email reminders to myself a few days before the appointment/event/deadline. I am a SAHM and have one child in public school and one in an online school. I NEED the reminders. DH is great but he works from 5 am till 6-7 pm. So I take care of everything.
The only advise I can give is.....
Get a planner for your purse,
Write everything down when you larn about it,
And remember to look at it everyday.
I have to admit I thought I'd never be organized. Last year I began Flying with the Fly lady . . . I thought the organizational notebook and one central calendar was hilarious. Today - My notebook is "The Notebook" it houses my weekly menu, my calendar, my life. My friends, family, everyone refers to "The Notebook".
Both my dh and I work full time (opposite shifts), we are homeschooling, and our ds and dd are both in lots of activities that we routinely get roped into doing stuff for. If I didn't have my notebook, I'd be lost.
