Little Changes, Big Results! Organizing Challenge

Would you like to join an Organizing Challenge? The purpose of this challenge is to think of all those small changes you could make in your home that will make a big difference! List them here, get ideas from others, and then post your progress in getting things done.

Here's the list of the "small" jobs I'd like to get done around here:

1. Get the boxes of financial records OUT of the master bedroom and INTO the home office area.

2. Fix trim in Big DS's room.

3. Paint the new front and back doors.

1) I NEED to finish going through the toys to keep or sell long before the Christmas tree goes up.

2) I need to reorganize my Avon office space so I can actually work in there so all the other stuff has to go in the trash or be boxed up and stored in the garage.

Oh my goodness, I could write a book of the things I want to organize. For starters:

Pack away all the summer clothes and get out the winter clothes while weeding out those clothes that no one wears or that don't fit anymore.

Turn over the soil in my garden for next spring

get rid of books I no longer want

clean out my dish cupboard in the kitchen

Okay I need to pack away my summer clothes.

Make a list of items to sew. At least get started with the tank tops.

Keep sorting through the paper mess I have.

I need to sort my books and decide which to donate to a group who helps women go to college. I heard on the radio that they are having their fall sale at the mall this month.

I need to finish organizing my craft items and just keep what I'm interested in now.

It's still warm here and I did my clothes closet a couple of months ago but I have some clothes that were ordered through the mail that need some extra attention to get the wrinkles out from where they were folded to be shipped. They are either polyester or a blend of that and cotton.

The kitchen drawers and cabinets need lots of sorting and purging.

Several months of paid bills need to be filed.

The yard needs constant attention this time of year.

This weekend I will be packing up summer yard stuff. I will fill the van with whatever I can find to take to goodwill on monday. I know the kids have some items they don't want anymore.

I'm ALMOST done with #1 on my list and I finished #2 this morning.

I had put some financial/household records into a different filing box this year. It's too small. So I need to move all those into the bigger box. (Guess that's why we had the bigger box! DUH!) After that, I will be done with #1

I got a box of books ready to drop off and this morning dh added some of his to it too.

I've also started on sorting the craft items and found a craft book I had been looking for.

I tend to get distracted and end up sorting or cleaning something else but so far this is helping me to stay focused on each task.
