Do you make any beauty products?

Do you make any ofyour own beauty products?

I make quite a few things for hair, body, face and bath. This is one of the recipes I use a lot. mybe we can share some recipes here?

Tomato Mask for Acne
  • Remove skin and seeds and mash 1/4 of a tomato
  • 2 tsp. plain yogurt
  • 1 tsp. mashed cucumber
  • 2 tsp. aloe gel
  • 3 tsp. Oatmeal powder
  • 2 mint leaves (crushed)
Mix ingredients together in a bowl, apply to face and leave on for about 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
Finish with an oil free moisturizer.

Nope I don't do anything at all like that.
My best one is olive oil and salt to exfoliate my hands elbows, heels and knees

Condition Hair With Coconut Oil

Being in the sun so much in Florida I condition My hair using Coconut oil since it is natural.

Massage a quarter size dollup of coconut oil into towel dried, slightly damp unwashed hair. Starting at the roots and working down to the tips adding more oil as needed. Wrap a towel around your hair to trap moisture and create heat. Let it set for about 15 minutes than shampoo hair as usual.
Massaging the oil into the scalp stimulates the circulation of nutrient rich blood which encourages hair growth. It also moisturizes the scalp to ward off dandruff flakes.

Coconut oil is a must have for women in India for keeping their hair glossy and lustrous.

Sueann, I will have to try the coconut oil on my eyebrows. They are always very thin due to thyroid problems. I tried olive oil before and it didn't work so will give the coconut oil a whirl.

I make a facial scrub with coconut oil as a base. I add baking soda, and sugar. Mix it up and let it set. I also use coconut oil for a body and face lotion. I am using coconut oil daily on my arms, back of my neck for my dry skin and for a sunscreen.

WalMart in the grocery, with the oils and shortening. That is the cheapest place to buy it.

There isn't a Walmart close to me and I haven't found coconut oil in any other grocery store baking sections. I did find a small bottle of a lotion type in the Mexican section at CVS, so will try that on my eyebrows at night. Its too heavy to use in the daytime.

I use a mix of olive oil and oatmeal to exfoliate and moisturize my skin while I'm in the shower. I also use olive oil to condition my hair--also use baking soda as a rinse once a month to remove any build-up from the hard water here.
