The race is in Charlotte or actually Concord. It will be the NASCAR Cup race and the NASCAR Busch race, which I don't plan on going to unless Bobby decides to race in it at the last minute for charity. So, a mall in Concord would be fine! I am thinking that if we went during the Busch race it may be less crowded, but who knows! LOL
Hi DeBora, the mall is maybe 3 miles from the racetrack. It's called Concord Mills, it's a HUGE shopping center. They have everything including a movie theatre and Dave and Busters. It's quite nice. A shopper's paradise
I'll have to look up that mall. I've been to the races twice so far. The first time I went, I went with a girl who is also a member of the fan club. She did the driving because I am notorious for getting lost. That trip was fast paced because we went to Busch and Cup qualifying as well as all the practices, and both races. It was run, run, run and then back home. The next trip, she backed out at the last minute and DH's job had a big plant shut down. So, I went by myself. I met up with people that I had either met from other races, outings, or on the Internet. But, getting around was totally on me. I am notorious for getting lost and I didn't want to push it, so I didn't drive around. This time, unless DH's job has major problems, he is going with me. I cannot wait. He has never been to a fan club outing. I think he will be very surprised! He has seen Bobby, but he has never met his family (wife, kids, parents, and MIL). He has met a few of the fans that try to make the trip each year or heard me talk about them. I decided that skipping school was worth it since I have worked so hard.
Closer to October, I will let you and Tami know of my itenerary. Then we can plan to meet up.
Those are some great ideas, thanks for sharing them, and congrats on the move.
Being that I am renting (still, and yet again), some of the tips that should be mentioned is contacting your bank(s) and credit card(s) company to let them know you are moving to and what dates you will be moving on. This way should anything happen to your bank /CC account numbers you are not responsible for charges you did not make. Another one is find out whether or not the utilities you have can be changed to the place you are moving to (if in same county / district) - sometimes the utility companies prefer to transfer your account address rather than closing / reopening accounts, and it is cheaper in the long run for you. Another tip is that many Cell phone companies use coverage nation wide (T-mobile is one) so unless you absolutely have to change your cell phone number - don't do so until you know you will be in a prefix zone for longer than 6 months... some hiring companies may have an issue with this, however if they are really interested in you they will be patient while you are "transitioning" into your new living arrangements. And Last, but not least, FORWARD all of your mail at least one (1) week prior to your move - whether it gets forwarded to the new rental home or a Post office box (for banking and credit card accounts a PO Box is your best bet). This gives all the companies you use(d) to be able to contact you directly w/o all the hassles of calling them, leaving a message, yada yada yada
SO true about changing your address at the Post Office!! No matter what I do, I always seem to forget to change my address at my bank and to order new checks. Six months later I'm still using the old checks and crossing out my old addy to write in the new one. Thankfully we live in a small area where everyone knows where my bank is so I've never been questioned about it.
You have added some very important tips! Thank you!
