Interesting! I do receive, on occasion, free books, CDs, or products in exchange for a review on my blog. I do indicate that I received a sample product, and I have reviewed other items without receiving a sample, just because I liked those items and wanted to tell about them. Thanks for sharing the article.
Personally I don't think that blogs should be scrutinized in this way. That's our tax dollars being wasted to chase after some moms (and others) who got free products in exchange for some word-of-mouth advertising. What a waste of resources!
Maybe it's me, but I don't just take one person's opinion about a product to figue out if I will buy or not buy an item. And I don't go to blogs for that information. I ask the groups I belong to for their opinions I think and I will also ask the people who are around me for their opinions.
I am with you, I may ask members on here who I know well about a product or pay attention to comments someone on one of groups mentions about a product they tried but still, it doesn't completely sway my decision making. I'm sure there are probably people out there who do and I think as a blogger you should be honest about what you received if anything on the product but overall I'm with Barbzy too in that I don't the gov't. should have it's hands in this area it just seems like they are getting their foot in the door that has been closed to them till now.
