What Was Your Best Deal Of The Week At The Grocery Store and What Will You Do With It

I found at Krogers this week:
Half Gallons of store brand orange juice for 99cents
Eggs 98 cents a dozen
My husband drinks a little over half a gallon of OJ a week so I bought 2 and will go back on payday and stock up for the next few weeks till their next sale.
Eggs… I will boil them and make egg salad for my lunch next week. Again, on payday I’ll go back and buy extras as eggs can be used for so many things including to bake cakes with, which helps us resist the temptation of buying candy bars and other sweet stuff from the convenience stores.

I found eggs for 59 cents a dozen so I bought 2 dozen. I would have bought more, but they were close to expiration date. I have already used them to bake a cake, make omelets, and egg salad. I'll be making cupcakes this weekend, as well. It won't take long to use them up.

Kathy

That was a awesome price for the eggs and they are such a "usable" product for so many different things.

Great topic

This must be the week for eggs to be on sale. I got eggs at 97 cents a dozen this week--bought 4 dozen. We use them a lot in baking, and on weekends DH likes to make scrambled eggs for breakfast. They won't go to waste here

I also got good deals on soda this week. They had Coke products including Dr. Pepper at 5 12-packs for $10. In 2 trips I bought 10 (8 were Dr. P) My Big DS and his friends drink a lot of Dr. P.

Always around Memorial Day you can get soda at a really good price, so I stock up.

Barbzy

That is a great price for the coke products and a good reminder about Memorial Day sales. I just wish the big giants Coke and Pepsi would come out with a sugar free, sodium free and caffeine product and have it on sale.

I got 2 pounds of fresh strawberries at $1.50 a pound (I've never seen them lower) and 2 dozen eggs at 99 cents a dozen. I sent one pound of berries to school for lunches for 2 days, and the other pound I cut up and froze. I boiled a dozen eggs for quick snacks or lunches, and we'll use the other dozen (plus the dozen I already had) quickly in breakfasts and other recipes.

I nearly forgot... I also got 8 avocadoes at 25 cents each. I made guacamole- we ate one batch, and I froze 3 more. As long as we use them within about a month (which we will), it'll taste fine.

I have to check the stores around here to see if eggs are on sale. I hope so!

Today, I printed out 2 - $1.00 coupons for Cottonelle bathroom tissue. Walmart has the 4 packs for $1.00 each = 8 free rolls of TP. My family will use this for Kleenex, not TP, since we are an AngelSoft TP family.

I also printed out 2 - $1.00 coupons for Bagelfuls. My son loves these things. Walmart lowered the price on their to $1.88 so I got 2 boxes for 88 cents each or 22 cents for each bagelful.

Great thread, Anna!

I had 2 coupons for those new Deli Creation sandwiches. I got 1 free and 1 for $1.50 off. So I got 2 sandwiches for $1.39. That was what dh and I had for lunch on Saturday. Will never get them if I don't have a deal like that.

My best deals at the grocery store are once a month when a local grocery store, 2 miles from me, does the 3 day Triple Coupon Weekend. I pull the $.75 coupons out of my stash. They are worth $2.25 on those days. Then they put grocery items on sale 2/$5 or less than $2.25. Those items are free. Some I use and some go to my Church Food Pantry. I also buy toothpaste and underarm deodorant for the Veterans at the local Nursing Home. Many of the tubes of toothpaste are free with coupons and the deodorant less than $1. A lot of health and beauty items and grocery items are now $4, so if I can get them free with coupons, or almost free, I'm going to use coupons to get them.

I've gotten 11 bottles of Kraft salad dressing for $1 which have been donated to the Youth Group Spaghetti dinner fundraiser at church.

Don't forget you can freeze eggs in ice cube trays for use later. Just put one egg in a cube and slightly scramble.

I'm going to pick up pop & chips (hangs head) at CVS today as they emailed me a $3 off $15 purchase. I'll get 5 12 pks of pop for $13 & 2 bags of Lays for $3.49 less the coupon.
