The easiest and cheapest way to make bows are out of left over strips of wrapping paper.
Cut approx 6 strips of 1 or 2 centimetres wide and approx 15cm long, the longer the strip the bigger the bow.
Loop the first 2 ends together and hold with thumb and finger, then keep looping the other strips the same way making sure to hold firmly in your thumb and forefinger till all strips are used.
Poke a hole with a large safety pin or needle and pop in a large split pin or craft brad.
You can always use a stapler if you don't' have any of the brads and pop a sticker to cover when finished.
I made 2, 1cm strips and the other 2cm strips, separate then I popped them together for a fuller one.
Cut a paper strip whatever width you'd like and cut the others to match there is no right or wrong way, length is the same as that give yo the fullness or the loops.
Try cutting 1 strip, overlap the ends in your fingers then fold in half, that will give you and idea of loop size and adjust from there.
I'm not that knowledgeable out inches, we are metric LOL but I do know that 2.5cm = 1 inch any help?
Those are plain but I did make a couple more up with christmas wrapping this weekend
If there was one thing I'd say to watch for it would be to make sure you have all ends in your fingers to make sure when you put your pin in that you get all the ends secured ...... I only make that mistake once LOL
I'm planning on making making bows to parcels this year
If you are dexterous you can see if you can use curling ribbon (after all that is what the bows are pre made in the shops) but I'd try with the wider ribbon first.
A lot of gifts are given with ribbon so you can use cut off lengths that aren't crushed.
Takes a little more practice but it can be done LOL
