Old Bay Seasoning, believe it or not, I've never tried it. I thing I have a sample of it too. What else do you use it on?

In case anyone's wondering, I've changed my name, but it's still me!

I like the name Carol!

We use old bay on seafood of course but also whole baked chicken, the fries and fried chicken. Yummy!

I LOVE the little flower under your name Songberies and I like the name too! Very nice!
I must be an old stick in the mud.... I just have an issue with all the salt, fat, preservatives, chemicals in all the processed foods.
I just don't think they are a healthy choice. I guess my kids will have to be deprived. I do let them have things like some cheeses and some deli meats and we do a few things here and there but
I guess I've done too much reading on some of the things found in many of those products.
I guess we all must do what we feel comfortable with and what fits into our lives.
I have ate the fries with Old Bay and they are good!
Have a great holiday all!

Robin, hey, I agree, we all have different opinions on what to feed the kids. When they grow up they can do what they want.

And you can bet they will! I expect my youngest dd (going to be a senior in college in the fall) will eventually go full vegetarian. And if that's what she wants--more power to her.

I've worked really hard at teaching my kids about decent nutrition. My DD in only 9 and is veggie. My sons are not but if you set down a hamburger, hot dog, fresh corn on the cob and watermelon they will eat watermelon and corn first and then maybe a piece of meat. I'm proud that they make better food choices.
My kids are healthy, don't get sick often, and are physically fit.
I think these are good foundations for a healthier adulthood.
Best of luck with the lunch preparing. I'm off to go buy teacher gifts and take them to school. This is my kids last day. My preschooler finished up about 2 weeks ago.

Great site Jayne! Loved it!

Today is the first day of summer break. We had frozen pizzas. Each child got his or her own and was pretty happy about that. I also let them have hawaiian punch. I guess I need a schedule now because I was thrown way off guard with this!

Thanks for that site Jayne!!

I know what you mean Mommyo, about getting on schedule, I am thinking about that already, and my kids have 10 more days to go. It is hard getting on a new schedule, especially summer. DH has to leave the house at 5:30, and everyone else gets to sleep in late and when DH is ready for bed no one else is ready to sleep. It doesn't matter much for the older ones, but for 3 yo dd, it is hard!!!

Are, we planning to do like we do for the what's for dinner thread? Where we post each day what we serve? I think that would be neat, I need all the ideas I can get!!!

Here is one I don't know if it was mentioned or not? But, my kids like when I make a box of mac and cheese then add either tuna or hburg, it is like a homemade hamburger/tuna helper. But, my kids love that!! Puts a new twist on mac and cheese, not like they don't like it already, but it also stretches it a little bit more.
