Besides the usual sandwiches....I sometimes packed a picnic type basket, fried chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, a brownie and a piece of melon.
Anything that you can imagine can make a lunch!....All you need as equipment is a wide mouth thermos, for soups and stews, and plastic containers for everything else.
Wraps are wonderful!...
Also assorted little crackers with a variety of cheeses and fruit for a change.
I have had kids indulge in hot soups on those cold cold winter mornings.......I was lucky, my kids would eat anything I prepared for breakfast. It was their favorite meal of the day because everyone was together.... we've even had hot pizza for breakfast.
A frittata is wonderful too. Those help to use up little bits of veggies left over ......
As long as they eat something nutritious, it doesn't have to be breakfast food.
It's been a long time since I had to pack lunches....so with all the convenience foods and packing materials out there, it has to be easier!
