How do you sale at a Farmer's market as a Business

I need to make money and I'm tired of not being able to support myself and daughter the way I want too, so I thought about the fact that at Farmer's Markets I always see people selling baked goods/Jams and Jellies.

I know that there are alot of Farmer's Markets that do NOT need to be license but I may need to be, my city says that Peddler licenses are $30 monthly. I don't know if that applies to the Markets. But, does anyone know how to go about doing this? I want to do it right, though I hear stories about people that sell dinners out of their homes etc. unlicensed. I'm renting so I can't make this a commerical business but I would like to make extra money and maybe venture off into an online business. But for now, I just want to be able to make my breads/cakes/cookies to sell. I already have a few of my daughter's friends that are requesting them and even paying for it. This is my ticket, if I could just figure it out.

You may need to find out if you have to have a commercial kitchen to do this kind of work.

Its a difference of location. I live in the suburbs but in Detroit people sale things unlicensed and no one says a thing. You just stand at a corner, I know I've seen people do it. But here I know there's gonna be some regulation. I hope I can get it together before the Farmer's markets around here open.

I just called the woman that's over the Farmer's Market. She is sending me an application and rules. No one mentioned licenses but I'll see when I get it. If everything goes good I would participate from June 23rd until Oct. 13th. It's $10 a week from 8 to 3!!! I'm excited!!!

I forgot to mention that with my uncle I'm supposed to get a food handlers license. I hope he hurries up and agrees on the day and we go take the class. That would help me a great deal with this, if necessary and with my application to a Culinary Baking School.

If I can do this, anyone have any suggestions as to what I could sale?

I am thinking about giant cookies, poundcakes, and quick breads.

Any ideals?

What about individual muffins and cupcakes? Can you also sell coffee to go with a muffin for breakfast?
