Cream.y Country Chicken

1 1/2 lbs.potatoes,cut into 1 inch pieces (about 3 cups)
3 cups baby carrots (about 1 pound)
1 medium onion,coarsely chopped
4 chicken breast halves, each cut in half (about 2 1/4 pounds)
2 packages chicken gravy mix
1 cup water
1 tsp. Season-All Seasoned salt
1 tsp. Thyme leaves
1/4 tsp. Poultry seasoning OR 1/4 tsp. Ground sage
1 container (8 oz.) Sour cream
Place potatoes, carrots, and onion in slow cooker. Top with chicken, overlapping pieces slightly so that all of the chicken is on top.
Mix gravy mixes,water,season-all,thyme and poultry seasoning til well blended. Pour over chicken and vegetables. Cover.
Cook 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high. Remove chicken and vegetables to serving platter. Gradually stir 1/2 cup of the hot liquid from slow cooker into sour cream until smooth. Then stir sour cream mixture back into liquid in slow cooker until well blended. Spoon sauce over chicken and vegetables to serve.
Serves 6

this dish smelled to high heaven. The chicken comes out very tender. When i made this i didnot have any poultry seasoning or sage. I don't know if i missed it or not as it still came out good. The only thing i would change is mixing the 2 pkgs of gravy mix with 2 cups of water as i like a lot of sauce at least for me maybe not for you tho. We all loved it. Sandy1970, this will be made again as its easy and very good. Congrats.

i especially liked it because veggies, meat, and a sauce was all in 1 pot..Not having to have several out was a big help to me.. And i will be fixing it again.

Thanks jfe for the blue ribbon. I like one dish recipes and casseroles. Easy and fast to prepare and not many dishes to wash up. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
