I suggest that you set small goals instead of big ones - say, 10lb loss instead of 25lb.
Make sure that you are willing to make a lifestyle change, not just going on a "diet". Believe me, I speak from experience, you will gain the weight back if you go back to eating the old way.
Make shelf and frig space just for your food so that you won't be tempted to look at other foods.
Give yourself 3-5 days to get over the headaches and body aches from sugar withdrawal. You might feel pretty crappy for a few days but then shortly after that you will probably start feeling bursts of energy...it will be working then.
Make menus, including snacks, so that you are never left trying to find something to eat at the last minute.
