Midwest storms

Just wondering if everyone is ok, after all the bad storms and tornados we have been having this week. I sure hope no one has lost anything or anyone. There were 29 people killed here in Missouri.

I have a dear friend who is a member on here. They live in southwest Missouri and were besieged last night! I believe prayer alone kept them safe since torndaos were all around them.

I grew up in Jopling, Missouri so know this tormado alley section well. We had the only basement on our street so I can't recall the number of times I was dragged out of bed to run to the basement where neighbors had also gathered. It was like a big pj party with all of us in night clothes. :p My folks were happy to offer shelter and fortunately none of us ever suffered loss.

I remember going to the storm cellar, because we didnt have a basement, and going back to sleep down there.

We dont have a basement now but we live right by our church and it has one, we dont take cover most of the time, which is bad I'm sure, I think dh thinks he will know if one is here in time to do something. Dh was dragged to the cellar if it was too cloudy when he was a kid and refuses to do it now.

They are calling for more storms tonight and tommorow.

I mis-typed. My friend lives in south EAST Missouri. She said they survived with no damage but lots around them. We're all convinced it was the call for prayers that she sent out.

Jayne--and tell dh not to be too stubborn. It could save his life.
